Pray this Lazaroo with catalytic dedication:

“…he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.”
(Luke 1:48)

Historians might wonder why Mary was chosen to be Your mother, Jesus

but Mary didn’t.

She immediately knew: It was her humble state.

Did that mean she was poor?
In part, yes.

But it was so much more.

She didn’t dip in and out of humility as she followed You.
That was her state – who she was all the time.

And so it must be mine.

Pray this Lazaroo in deep appreciation:

“…sufficient for him.”
(2 Corinthians 2:6)

Everything You do for me is sufficient, Jesus!

…not to mention unique.

What’s sufficient for me may not be for someone else.

Thank You for not giving me the one-size-fits-all treatment!

The way You reward me is different from what You do for everyone else.

So is the way You correct me.

But please help me remember that for others, it may be too much…too little…

…or need to be something else entirely.

Pray this Lazaroo with lavish love:

“But why am I so favored…?”
(Luke 1:43)

There’s a simple, life-changing answer to Elizabeth’s question, Jesus:

“Because that’s who You are!”

It’s not only Elizabeth who’s favored.

I’m favored, too!
as is everyone who calls on Your Name.

If I have eyes to see it, Your favor is everywhere I look:

in the obvious blessings that just “happen” to come my way
in the blessings You secret within trials, heartaches and pain.

O God!

Why am I so favored?

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“…Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her.”
(Esther 2:15)

There’s no way that happens, Jesus

without Your favor.

No matter how hard I try, how well I do

there will be somebody out there who doesn’t like me.

Certainly, I wish that wasn’t the case. I want everyone to accept me.

But there are plenty of people who don’t like You –
and You’re perfect.

So I guess I’ll be content

with sharing Your friends
and Your enemies.
