Can I say that, Jesus?

Is it okay with me if I appear to fail so others can succeed?

I know I should say it.

More importantly, I know I should wholeheartedly embrace it.

Clearly, I have a long way to go

but You see into my heart:

You know I want to get there.

I have such a long way to go!

But I trust You. I believe in You. I know You Are God and I know You are Good.

I will not lose heart.

But no matter how many times I fall short, landing on my face in disgrace

until my faith
becomes sight.

Why, Jesus?

Why would You allow false teachers in Your Church?

I suppose that’s the same question as

why would You allow liars, addicts, adulterers, gluttons, gossips?

It’s who we are, isn’t it?

Thank God, not who You’re helping us become!

But we haven’t arrived.

Every single one of us has such a long way to go.
