Pray this Lazaroo in Godly desire:

“…that we may live peaceful…lives…”
(1 Timothy 2:2)

Some people seem to enjoy constant drama, Jesus.

If it’s not happening around them, they’re bored.

If things become too quiet for their taste, they’ll stir the pot themselves

goading others into a reaction, good or bad.

They don’t care, so long as everything’s hopping.

Turmoil…is their entertainment.

Please rescue me from these people, LORD!

Never permit me to become one of their number.

Make me…

a lover of peace.

Pray this Lazaroo in holy fear:

“…as authorized by Cyrus, king of Persia.”
(Ezra 3:7)

Nothing like getting authorization, Jesus.

But not even the king’s authorization counts
unless You back it up.

Authorize me, LORD!

I’m not looking for authorization from anyone else.

No matter who thinks otherwise

You can do great things through me
for Your glory

not mine.

I don’t want the praise due You.

I just want to matter in Your kingdom
the only kingdom that matters in heaven or on earth.

Pray this Lazaroo with keen anticipation:

“And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:8)

That day can’t come soon enough, Jesus.

I’m sick and tired of his attacks

on my country
my friends and family
my church

on me.

But I don’t have to wait till the end of the Great Tribulation, do I?

You’ve given me everything I need to defeat him today!

If only I want it as badly as I say I do.

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“…and they were found to be…”
(2 Chronicles 2:17)

In this case, it was only a number Solomon wanted to know, Jesus

although the high number reported to him was crucial:

the number of aliens living in Israel.

But what if someone’s investigation was focused on me?

And what if the Someone doing the investigation was You?

What would I be found to be?

In fact, You now know what I am.

May I be pleasing in Your sight!

Pray this Lazaroo in respectful humility:

“For you know…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:11)

I always get a little nervous when I hear someone say that, Jesus.

They may be assuming I know more than I do.

There was a time when I thought I knew more than I did

only to discover the hard way how woefully ignorant I was.

Time has passed. Much has happened. I must be wiser now than I was then…

…if only to realize and admit how much I don’t know.

Think it through, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Heman’s associate Asaph, who served at his right hand…”
(1 Chronicles 6:39)

There’s nothing like having a right-hand man, Jesus…

…or woman.

No matter how intelligent or gifted, no one can do it all.

The bigger the job
the more that’s true.

Sometimes, though…I think I’d rather do it myself.

Less hassle.

Having to train someone interferes, takes time away from the job.

But if I don’t bring someone along
teach them the ropes

it dies with me.

Pray this Lazaroo in dumfounded amazement:

“…and through him to reconcile to himself all…things on earth…”
(Colossians 1:20)

Through You, Jesus, God reconciles to Himself

not some things
not even most things.

Everything.

I can understand why God would work miraculously through You to reconcile:

God-fearing men, women and children
churches, hospitals and Rescue Missions
robins, guppies and cute puppies.

But:

bank robbers, rapists and murderers?
bars, brothels and meth labs?
vultures, piranha and jackals?

It may now be officially recorded:

My mind is blown.

Pray this Lazaroo with undiluted sincerity:

“He got rid of the sacred stone of Baal that his father had made.”
(2 Kings 3:2)

That’s the first thing some kids do, Jesus –

change what their parents did.

Growing up, they saw their parents’ flaws – real or imagined –

swore to themselves they would do it better when they got the chance.

In this case, Joram was 100% correct.

Baal had to go.

But sometimes as kids…

the older we get
the smarter our parents begin to look.

Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“…whether I come and see you or only hear about you…”
(Philippians 1:27)

Usually it matters, Jesus –

whether the boss is present or absent.

In most cases, more work – and better work –

get done when the overseer is there to oversee.

“People don’t do what you expect…” goes the saying.

“…they do what you inspect.”

But working for You is different.

You have a way of staying while You go.

The theologians call it, “omnipresence.”

The 24/7 game-changer.
