Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.”
(John 2:14-15)

There’s a proper way to handle money in Your courts, Jesus

and there’s a disrespectful way.

When You saw Your holy place being desecrated

Pray this Lazaroo with excuseless humility:

“Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the LORD Loves…”
(Malachi 2:11)

Those last three words are what get to me, Jesus.

Of course, I should never desecrate Your sanctuary.

But when You remind me of how much You love Your sanctuary

that takes any sin against her
to a whole ‘nuther level.

My first thought goes to the physical church building where I worship with Your people.

Then I realize that my body is a temple for Your Holy Spirit.
