Pray this Lazaroo with utter abandon:

“Many nations will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.’ The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
(Micah 4:2)

May that day come soon, Jesus!

Sadly, in my day,
more and more nations
are turning away from You,
refusing to be taught Your ways,
straying from Your righteous paths.

Great God!

Send revival!

Take warning, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…you will be utterly despised.”
(Obadiah 1:2)

Whew! That’s a tough one, Jesus!

But that was the punishment You meted out against Edom
the people descended from Jacob’s older brother.

Why?

Because of the calloused cruelty they exhibited
toward Your hurting, chosen people.

No matter how low one of Your flawed believers sinks

may I never pile on while You’re disciplining them

and risk becoming one of the “utterly despised.”

It’s not my place to add to their misery

lest some of their misery becomes mine.

Pray this Lazaroo with growing understanding:

“Hear this, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel, who despise justice and distort all that is right…because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.”
(Micah 3:9,12)

Your gift and call to be a leader is a staggering responsibility Jesus.

It gives to a human being the ability to sway others

for right
or for wrong

and then to face the consequences.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Hear this, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel, who despise justice and distort all that is right; who build Zion with bloodshed, and Jerusalem with wickedness.”
(Micah 3:9-10)

It’s the leaders You hold most accountable, isn’t it, Jesus?

You expect them to set the standard for their followers

to love justice and do what’s right
But with honesty, integrity and hard work –

not by crushing the innocent.

Pray this Lazaroo in fervency of spirit:

“But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.”
(Micah 3:8)

It’s possible, Jesus!

That while all around me are weak, timid and afraid
You would choose to make me bold and strong.

That was true of Your prophet Micah

because He was obeying You
with every fiber of his being.

Weak or strong, bold or timid
may I do the same.

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“They will be afraid of you, but be very careful. Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own. You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.”
(Deuteronomy 2:4-6)

You chose Jacob, Jesus

but You sure took care of Esau!

I’m not Your #1

but You care for me as though I am!

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“Then the Lord said to him, ‘Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.’ So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. ‘This,’ said the Lord, ‘is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.’”
(Exodus 4:4-5)

I don’t know about the Egyptians, Jesus…

but that sure would do it for me.

Pray this Lazaroo in fervent spirit:

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says about Edom…”
(Obadiah 1:1)

Edom, Jesus.

The people descended from Esau
whom You rejected in favor of his twin brother Jacob.

Though he was deeply flawed, You loved Jacob
but hated Esau – along with his descendants.

This makes me wonder:

If that’s what You said about Jacob and Esau
what do you say about me?

Whatever You didn’t like about Esau, keep from me!

But cause to rise up within me
whatever You loved about Jacob.

Open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel. Should you not embrace justice, you who hate good and love evil; who tear the skin from my people and the flesh from their bones; who eat my people’s flesh, strip off their skin and break their bones in pieces; who chop them up like meat for the pan, like flesh for the pot?”
(Micah 3:1-3)

Not physical cannibalism, Jesus.

Spiritual.

Abuse.
Lies.
Misinformation.
Neglect.

You view, judge and punish it:

as cannibalism.

Pray this Lazaroo with unswerving holy intent:

“Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau…”
(Obadiah 1:21)

You gave the entire promised land to the descendants of Jacob, Jesus

even though Esau was the firstborn
the one traditionally in line to receive the inheritance.

But Esau had no heart for You

didn’t value what You value.

So he lost his chance

leaving the descendants of his younger brother
to rule over the whole land.

O God!

May what I value
perfectly align with You.
