Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“I opened for my beloved, but my beloved had left; he was gone. My heart sank at his departure. I looked for him but did not find him. I called him but he did not answer.”
(Song of Songs 5:6)

Few feelings are worse, Jesus

than to be abandoned by someone I love
someone I thought loved me.

But You are the Friend who sticks closer than a brother!

You will never leave me!
You will never forsake me!

Pray this Lazaroo with bottomless trust:

“My beloved thrust his hand through the latch-opening; my heart began to pound for him. I arose to open for my beloved, and my hands dripped with myrrh, my fingers with flowing myrrh, on the handles of the bolt.”
(Song of Songs 5:4-5)

May I always be that excited to spend time with You, Jesus!

I confess that’s not always the case.

Sometimes I close my eyes in prayer perfunctorily.

Sometimes I open my Bible out of obligation.

In those moments, I’ve forgotten with Whom I’m about to spend time:

The King of kings!
The LORD of lords!

May my heart pound within me!

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My beloved is knocking: ‘Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.’ I have taken off my robe—must I put it on again? I have washed my feet—must I soil them again?”
(Song of Songs 5:2-3)

Yes, Jesus

She must.

That’s the price of love.

It’s no longer what I want.
It’s what they want.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

[The man:] “’You are a garden fountain, a well of flowing water streaming down from Lebanon.’ [The woman:] ‘Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choice fruits.’”
(Song of Songs 4:15-16)

The man praises her, Jesus…

the woman responds in kind.

Give me Your words to brighten someone’s day!

And when they brighten mine
help me respond in kind.

Pray this Lazaroo, in tender response:

“…show me your face…”
(Songs of Songs 2:14)

Solomon made that request of his bride, Jesus

do You make that request of me?

It’s certainly possible.

The Apostle Paul makes it clear that everything written in the past
was put in Your Word to teach us.

So why would You want me to show You my face?

You made me.
You already know what I look like.

Oh.

When I show You my face
I’m intimately focused on You.
