Pray this Lazaroo in the holy fear of God:

“Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone! Even when their drinks are gone, they continue their prostitution; their rulers dearly love shameful ways. A whirlwind will sweep them away, and their sacrifices will bring them shame.”
(Hosea 4:17-19)

After repeated willful sin

there comes a point of no return, doesn’t there, Jesus?

when a person – even an entire nation –
are joined to their idols in unholy matrimony

till death and destruction come
and they perish together.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Because of this the land dries up, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea are swept away.”
(Hosea 4:2-3)

Most people have no idea, Jesus –

that our blatant, willful, persistent sin
can negatively impact the environment
ultimately destroying wildlife.

Please, LORD:

Keep me pure!

Pray this Lazaroo with over-the-top trust:

“…do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”
(Romans 2:4)

I can’t keep on sinning, can I, Jesus?

Yes, You’re loving, merciful, longsuffering, forgiving…

but that doesn’t mean You wouldn’t harm a flea.

You’re also powerful, majestic, holy, righteous!

You will not forever tolerate willful sin.

Help me overcome my sin

so I can live the New Life

You purchased for me on the cross!

Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast faith:

“…what ought not to be done.”
(Romans 1:28)

I don’t like to think about this, Jesus.

It reminds me of all the times
I’ve been guilty of this very thing.

It’s bad enough when I make an innocent mistake
when I’m guilty of an unintended error in judgment

far worse when I know the good I ought to do
and don’t do it

when I know the evil I dare not do
and do it anyway.

Heal me, Father!

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“…knowing good and evil.”
(Genesis 3:5)

It’s one thing to know what’s good and what’s evil, Jesus

quite another to do one
and refuse the other.

Sure, there are some sins I might accidentally commit

some good deeds I inadvertently overlook.

But how can I claim ignorance as my excuse for any of those

when I refuse to obey even one of Your clear commands

or deliberately engage in an activity

that I know full well You have expressly forbidden?
