“Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and because they did this evil the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel. Getting the Ammonites and Amalekites to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms.

Jericho – the City of Palms, Jesus!

Barely 30 years after You sent those walls tumbling down
giving Joshua a great victory

Israel’s sin took it away from them!

Pray this Lazaroo in sobered awareness:

“‘Even the bravest warriors will flee naked on that day,’ declares the LORD.”
(Amos 2:16)

Now, there’s a graphic image, Jesus.

You have a way of making Your warnings memorable
and crystal clear.

If only this prophecy was intended for the enemies of Your people!

But it wasn’t.

This was the pronouncement of Your judgment on Israel

Your chosen people
the descendants of Abraham.

My takeaway?

If I’m doing any sinning
this would be an outstanding time

to cut it out.
