Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“…keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ…”
(Jude 1:21)

We may have to wait a while for Your ultimate mercy to be revealed, Jesus

but we don’t have to wait long to experience Your mercy
in a thousand ways – small and large –
through the passage of our days.

You are so good to us!
You take care of Your own.
You watch over us like a mother with her newborn.

No…even better.

Pray this Lazaroo in heartfelt adoration:

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
(1 Peter 2:2-3)

Yes, I have, Jesus.

I have tasted.

You are indeed good!

But I haven’t stopped with a taste.

I’ve returned again and again to Your well that never runs dry.

I’ve tipped up the vessel of Your Word and drunk deeply.

You have filled my heart, soul, mind and spirit

to overflowing!

Pray this Lazaroo in bated breath anticipation:

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation…”
(1 Peter 2:1)

This is a fascinating command, Jesus.

Many of us who have trusted You as our Savior
view our salvation as a single event.

We said, “Yes!” to the good news
that You paid for our sins on the cross
and three days later rose from the dead.

But now – oh the excitement!

…to learn there’s more.

Pray this Lazaroo with a teachable heart:

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up…”
(1 Peter 2:1)

Some people make fun of spiritual milk, Jesus

but You don’t.

Those same people claim they’re ready for meat

when in fact, their dismissal of spiritual milk
may indicate they’re not yet ready to be weaned.

I want to grow up, LORD!

I long to become mature and complete in You.

Is it possible…

that I’ll never outgrow my need for milk?

As you pray this Lazaroo…remember!

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk…”
(1 Peter 2:1)

Do I remember when I was like that, Jesus –

right after I first gave myself to You?

I certainly craved pure spiritual milk then!

I attended Bible studies, never missed a church service.
If there was something You wanted me to do, I did it!

What do I crave now?

Restore to me the heart of a newborn, Father!

not with immaturity

but in passionate desire for You and Your Word.

Be overwhelmed, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“‘…how evil and bitter it is for you when you…have no awe of me,’ declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.”
(Jeremiah 2:19)

Awe isn’t an option, Jesus –

not when it comes to You.

When I gaze into the starry nighttime sky or hold a newborn baby

I should be filled with awe over Your amazing creativity
and the miracle of human life.

When I consider my wholly undeserved salvation

I should be overwhelmed in grateful awe for your love and mercy.

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I rejoice in what was suffered for you…”
(Colossians 1:24)

After their babies are born,

mothers feel that, Jesus.

When they’re overwhelmed with love for their newborn

they affirm that the agony of giving birth
was all worthwhile.

Many of them do it again….and again…and again.

By faith, may I say the same about the suffering You’ve allowed in my life, Father!

When I see what You’ve done with it, may I rejoice!

because the agony was all worthwhile.

Pray this Lazaroo in jaw-dropping amazement:

“…the splendor of his majesty!”
(Isaiah 2:10)

Everywhere I look, Jesus

I stand in awe
at the splendor of Your majesty!

When I look into Your sky in the morning and see Your clouds racing by

I marvel at their beauty.

When I look into that same sky at night and glimpse innumerable stars

I’m filled with wonder.

When I’m captured by the miracle of a newborn baby

I can’t help but be stunned
by Your incomparable love.
