Be humbly forewarned, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from the Lord.”
(2 Peter 2:10-11)

What a lesson, Jesus!

Even though You command me to resist the demonic work
of those powerful angels who followed Satan

because You created them
I’m to treat them with respect

as I do my earth-bound enemies.

Pray this Lazaroo with faith in the God who can:

“Bold and arrogant…”
(2 Peter 2:10)

Bold is good, Jesus –

provided it’s accompanied by total dependence on You.

But when coupled with arrogance?

Bold is always bad –

sometimes immediately
sometimes later.

There are times when bold arrogance appears to work

but that’s only when there’s a long fuse

leading to the moment
when it blows up in their face.

Which is not to say timidity is the answer!

Why be timid

when humbly following You
enables me to be bold as a lion?

It’s possible, Jesus!

That while all around me are weak, timid and afraid
You would choose to make me bold and strong.

That was true of Your prophet Micah

because He was obeying You
with every fiber of his being.

Weak or strong, bold or timid
may I do the same.
