Pray this Lazaroo in fervency of spirit:

“If thieves came to you, if robbers in the night—oh, what a disaster awaits you!—would they not steal only as much as they wanted?”
(Obadiah 1:5)

What a scary warning, Jesus!

Those who blatantly ignore Your love, goodness and mercy
will receive punishment beyond the norm.

Is there any way, shape or form in which I have committed this grievous sin?

If so, please forgive me!
In Your Might, help me turn around!

out of love and gratitude
not only from fear of punishment.

Pray this Lazaroo in zealous love:

“Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.”
(2 Corinthians 2:17)

You reward everyone who serves You, Jesus!

Some earn their living serving You and Your people.
Others serve You and Your people without pay

on this earth.

But oh, the untold treasure they’re laying up in heaven!

where moth and rust do not destroy
and strangers, friends, family and the government

cannot steal.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Woe to him who piles up stolen goods…!”
(Habakkuk 2:6)

That’s another level, isn’t it, Jesus?

To steal one or two things now and then is bad enough.

But to pile up high what’s been stolen

says something about the thief’s heart.

It’s the difference between sometimes losing my battle against temptation

and embracing temptation as a way of life.

Keep me in the good fight, Father!

May what Satan dangles in front of me
never become my master.

Pray this Lazaroo in grateful peace:

“They…put its doors and bolts and bars in place.”
(Nehemiah 3:6)

It’s a shame to have to do that to a door, Jesus.

Doors are meant to keep out the cold and heat
provide easy passage in and out.

But evil lurks outside every door:

thieves, rapists, murderers.

So to the beauty of a massive city door

they were forced to add bolts and bars.

I’m forced to do the same

while knowing only You
can keep me safe.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…my people’s possession is divided up.”
(Micah 2:4)

This can be one of life’s saddest moments, Jesus

when someone dies
and the treasures they have accumulated over the years

are divided up by heirs
or auctioned off to strangers.

But although people may rummage through my earthly possessions

I will leave nothing of true value behind.

My eternal treasure is laid up with You

where moths and vermin do not destroy
and thieves do not break in and steal.
