That’s the secret, isn’t it, Jesus?

If the priceless truths you shared with my elders are to benefit me
I’ve got to hold on to them with fierce tenacity!

The enemy of my soul will do everything he can

to pry them out of my grasp.

Then with equal fervor,

I’ve got to equip and inspire those who come after me
to hold on for dear life!

They’re not all the same, are they, Jesus?

I can rejoice over some of those who come after me
and weep over others –

especially when I remember that my descendants
are not limited to my biological children.

Every person into whom I’ve invested time, prayer, energy, finances

is a child of mine.

O God!

I’m so grateful for the ones who are doing well.
Please transform and rescue those who aren’t!
