Take it to heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety…”
(1 Timothy 2:9)

Paul had just finished telling the men what he wanted them to do, Jesus –

lifting up holy hands in prayer
without anger or disputing.

Now, he’s asking the women of the church

to dress in a way that glorifies You.

My guess is he’s correcting the shortcomings of each. 😉

Do I need to correct any of this, LORD?

Wholehearted worship
anger
disputing
dressing modestly?

Feel His loving warmth, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“But, dear friends…”
(Jude 1:17)

When somebody gets ready to correct me, Jesus

I prefer it to be as a “dear friend.”

Jude wasn’t lying.

That’s how he truly felt toward his brothers and sisters in You.

But You’re the One who gave these words to Jude

to share with us.

With me.

That’s how You see me, isn’t it?

Not only as a person You’ve created,
as a sheep in Your flock

but as Your dearly-loved

Personal friend.

Pray this Lazaroo in deep appreciation:

“…sufficient for him.”
(2 Corinthians 2:6)

Everything You do for me is sufficient, Jesus!

…not to mention unique.

What’s sufficient for me may not be for someone else.

Thank You for not giving me the one-size-fits-all treatment!

The way You reward me is different from what You do for everyone else.

So is the way You correct me.

But please help me remember that for others, it may be too much…too little…

…or need to be something else entirely.

Pray this Lazaroo with pure devotion:

“The fate of the fool will overtake me also…”
(Ecclesiastes 2:15)

In one sense that’s true, Jesus.

Fools die.
So will I.

But thanks to You

I don’t have to be a fool!

If I’m a fool now

I don’t have to remain one.

The fool denies You.

I worship You.

The fool ignores Your Word

I embrace it.

The fool can’t be told, corrected or taught.

I beg You to shape, lead and mold me
into Your likeness.
