Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“Why do you now cry aloud—have you no king? Has your ruler perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor? Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion…you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the Lord will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.”
(Micah 4:9-10)

When my sins have cost me my home, Jesus

is all lost?

No.

Even in a strange and foreign land

You can rescue me!

Pray this Lazaroo in absolute awe:

“And now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask.”
(Ruth 3:11)

Most of the people in this world have never heard such words, Jesus.

Ruth wouldn’t have heard them either
if You had not put them in Boaz’s mouth.

It was Your Will to bring the two of them together

to become Your ancestors through David

all the way down to Your birth in Bethlehem.

There is no one like You.

Not even close.

Pray this Lazaroo as you confidently wait on God:

“‘The Lord bless you, my daughter,’ he replied. ‘This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor.’”
(Ruth 3:10)

Ruth continued to live in a way that honored You, Jesus.

Because You’re who You Are
that was enough.

I have no idea how You’re going to intervene for me.

Knowing You, I expect it will be totally different than I imagine.

But I do know my part in Your miracle:

Continue to live in a way that honors You.

Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth. ‘For whom am I toiling,’ he asked, ‘and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?’”
(Ecclesiastes 4:8)

I suspect this man’s work was his enjoyment, Jesus!

Some people like to play games.
Others like to watch shows.
Still others enjoy visiting with friends.

But some people get the most pleasure from their work.

Help me enjoy whatever You’ve called me to do!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“Solomon made an alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt and married his daughter. He brought her to the City of David until he finished building his palace and the temple of the Lord, and the wall around Jerusalem. The people, however, were still sacrificing at the high places…”
(1 Kings 3:1-2)

And so it starts to unravel, Jesus…

Solomon enters a forbidden marriage
the people worshiping where they shouldn’t.

The more disobedience I incorporate in my life

the more swiftly my downfall arrives.

Never give up! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“All who pass your way clap their hands at you; they scoff and shake their heads at Daughter Jerusalem: ‘Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?’”
(Lamentations 2:15)

People love to attack a fallen hero, Jesus.

Why is that?

Were they jealous of the blessings You bestowed on them?
Are they delighted, now that Your discipline
has brought them down to their level?

What a shock it will be

when You restore the blessings
of Your repentant loved ones!

Pray this Lazaroo in sudden realization:

“‘I demand one thing of you: Do not come into my presence unless you bring Michal daughter of Saul when you come to see me.’ Then David sent messengers to Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, demanding, ‘Give me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for the price of a hundred Philistine foreskins.’”
(2 Samuel 3:13-14)

David refused to abandon his wife, for whom he risked his life, Jesus

just as You refuse to abandon me
for whom You paid with Your life!

Pray this Lazaroo in wholehearted dedication:

“One day Ruth’s mother-in-law Naomi said to her, ‘My daughter, I must find a home for you, where you will be well provided for.’”
(Ruth 3:1)

Naomi was a heartbroken widow, Jesus.

No one would have blamed her
for wanting Ruth to stay and take care of her.

But Naomi entrusted herself to You

and put Ruth’s needs ahead of her own.

O God!

Rise up within me so strongly
that I have that same caring heart toward others!
