Stand firm! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter had tempted you and that our labors might have been in vain.”
(1 Thessalonians 3:5)

For someone who devotes their life to invest in others, Jesus

that has to be one of the most terrifying fears.

Defeat the tempter!
Send him back in utter failure!

May Your people become everything You’ve created us to be.

Pray this Lazaroo with holy passion:

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure…Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.”
(Philippians 2:14-16)

It’s not the stuff I build that lays up heavenly treasure, is it, Jesus?

It’s the people You work through me to build

who are living Your overcoming life!

Pray this Lazaroo with catalytic dedication:

“‘In vain I punished your people; they did not respond to correction. Your sword has devoured your prophets like a ravenous lion. You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord: ‘Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say, “We are free to roam; we will come to you no more”?’”
(Jeremiah 2:30-31)

May I never dismiss Your warnings, Jesus!

Open my eyes wide
s
harpen my hearing.

Cause me to repent

so I can be spared.

Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“My people…have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”
(Jeremiah 2:13)

What an exercise in futility, Jesus!

Digging a cistern is hard, back-breaking work.

To expend all that time and effort to dig one that can’t hold water?

Crushing.

Is there anything I’m working on right now that You know will turn out to be a broken cistern?

I’d really appreciate a heads up.

All I want to do
is what You want me to do.
