Pray this Lazaroo with full-on caution:

“In their greed…”
(2 Peter 2:3)

People do a lot of shameful things, Jesus…

in their greed.

What is there about me that wants more than I need?

Why do I sometimes fail to consider that what I take for myself
could rob someone else of what they require?

But that raises the bigger question, doesn’t it?

Why do I act like it’s all about me?
Where do I get off behaving with this detestable attitude of –

“Me first?”

Be forewarned, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“They have become filled with every kind of…greed…”
(Romans 1:29)

So how many kinds of greed are there, Jesus?

There’s the kind that wants more than my share
out of fear that the day may come when I won’t have enough.

There’s the kind that takes what belongs to others
because I want to have more than them.

There’s the kind that piles it up
because having that much makes me feel more important

than I really am.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…he is as greedy as the grave….”
(Habakkuk 2:5)

That’s a heap of greedy, Jesus!

Last time I checked
47,000 people die every day.

Am I that greedy?

No.
Not if I know my own heart.
Not even close.

But how does anyone become “as greedy as the grave?”

My guess is it starts with a little greed
and grows.

Do I have even a little greed?

If so, show me.
Help me stop it in its tracks.
Now.
