Cling to the goodness of God, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it…”
(Proverbs 2:21)

Well, that pops my bubble, Jesus!

When You tell me I can live in the land when I’m upright
I have hope.

But when You say I can stay in the land if I’m blameless
I feel like throwing up my hands and giving up.

How is somebody like me ever going to be blameless?

Oh.
Your forgiveness.

It’s not me.
It’s You.

“The LORD…lifts the needy from the ash heap…”
(1 Samuel 2:7-8)

That’s where most of the world tosses the needy, Jesus:

on the ash heap.

And that’s where You are

to lift them up.

Did I say “them?”

Let me correct that:
To lift me up.

I, too, am needy.

Not so hungry as some
not without clothing or shelter

but I need You.

Every hour
I need You.

Without You, I can’t do this
