Pray this Lazaroo with desperate desire:

“Did I not make you swear by the Lord and warn you, ‘On the day you leave to go anywhere else, you can be sure you will die’? At that time you said to me, ‘What you say is good. I will obey.’ Why then did you not keep your oath to the Lord and obey the command I gave you?”
(1 Kings 2:42-43)

What Shimei swore before You didn’t matter, Jesus!

He was rotten to the core.

Only You know those who have potential

and those who have none.

When I need to know

show me!

Pray this Lazaroo with transparent love:

“…the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them. This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.”
(Romans 2:15-16)

Our secrets, Jesus…

all of them.

Accusing…defending.

If that day hasn’t yet arrived

I suspect some of us
have had a good taste of it already.

May all my secrets

be pleasing in Your sight!

Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has given the walls of her palaces into the hands of the enemy; they have raised a shout in the house of the Lord as on the day of an appointed festival. The Lord determined to tear down the wall around Daughter Zion.”
(Lamentations 2:7-8)

You discipline Your own, Jesus!

If we deliberately defy You
we can expect You to destroy
the blessings You’ve bestowed on us.

May I never do such an ugly, foolish thing, LORD!

Never. Never. Never.

Take the words of this Lazaroo as a personal warning:

“On the day I punish Israel for her sins, I will destroy the altars of Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.”
(Amos 3:14)

You have to be pretty angry to destroy your own altar, Jesus!

But it was because Your people had made a mockery of it.

They kept going through the motions of worshiping You

but their sinful lives made it clear:

Their devoted words
were nothing but lies.

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Do not my words do good to the one whose ways are upright?”
(Micah 2:7)

Yes they do, Jesus.

I can personally attest!

When I’m weak, Your words give me strength.
When I’m afraid, Your words give me courage.
When I’m in pain, Your words bring me healing.
When I’m in despair, Your words fill me with hope.

And on the day when I am about to draw my last breath

Your words give me absolute assurance

of eternal life.
