Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…done in the ungodly way…”
(Jude 1:15)

Doing the right thing is important, Jesus.

But I’ve got to do the right thing
in the right way.

Yes, You want me to give to the poor

but not disrespectfully, carelessly, contemptuously.
You want me to treat them with dignity and love, as equals.

Yes, You want me to serve

but not as though I’m doing people a favor.

Instead, realizing I’m the one favored
to be so privileged to serve.

Pray this Lazaroo with undying love:

“Is Israel a servant, a slave by birth?”
(Jeremiah 2:14)

Well…yes and no, Jesus.

Certainly, Your people are called to serve You
urged to serve one another.

But not in this sense.

You’re reminding us that we’re royalty
destined to rule and reign with You!

Of course, those of us who regard ourselves as Your slaves

waiting on You hand and foot
sensitive to Your every whim

are the ones in heaven
who will be the greatest of all.
