Pray this Lazaroo in stunned realization:

“Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.”
(James 3:10-12)

I think You just nailed me, Jesus.

Do I praise You?

Yes. Absolutely.

Do I sometimes speak judgmental words of anger and disrespect?

Sadly, I do.

Looks like I’m due for some

spring cleaning.

Pray this Lazaroo in heartfelt gratitude:

“…the anointing you received from him remains in you…”
(1 John 2:27)

That is so comforting, Jesus!

so good to know.

When I sin – which I sadly confess is way too often –

Satan tries to make me afraid that I’ve lost what I had with You.

That’s a terrifying thought.

But it’s not true!

You’ve promised to never leave me nor forsake me.

And though I’ve let You down countless times

I will never turn my back on You.

Pray this Lazaroo in humble acknowledgement:

“‘Moab will become like Sodom, the Ammonites like Gomorrah—a place of weeds and salt pits, a wasteland forever. The remnant of my people will plunder them; the survivors of my nation will inherit their land.’ This is what they will get in return for their pride…”
(Zephaniah 2:9-10)

Solomon said it, Jesus:

“Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall.”

Sadly, he experienced it.

So will I, unless I remember:
You are the Giver of my gifts.

Pray this Lazaroo with undying love:

“…these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct…”
(2 Peter 2:12)

It’s hard to believe there are people like this, Jesus!

You’ve created us all in Your Image.

Some of us act like it most of the time.
Others seldom act like it.

But sadly, none of us acts like it all of the time.

Please forgive me for the times
when I’ve acted like an animal!

and may I increasingly
reflect Your likeness.

Pray this Lazaroo with utter abandon:

“Many nations will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.’ The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
(Micah 4:2)

May that day come soon, Jesus!

Sadly, in my day,
more and more nations
are turning away from You,
refusing to be taught Your ways,
straying from Your righteous paths.

Great God!

Send revival!

Pray this Lazaroo with your eyes fixed on Jesus:

“Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil…”
(3 John 1:11)

At first glance, Jesus

that seems like a no-brainer
like something You wouldn’t have to say.

Sadly, there’s a reason You have to say it –

a very sad, disgraceful, inexcusably awful reason:

We keep imitating what’s evil.
Monkey see…monkey do.

What are we thinking?

Maybe we’re thinking they got away with it…

so can I.

But they’re not going to get away with it!

Nor will I.

Pray this Lazaroo in worship to our one and only God!

“They say to wood, ‘You are my father,’ and to stone, ‘You gave me birth.’ They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, ‘Come and save us!’”
(Jeremiah 2:27)

How the idol worship of Your very own people had to hurt You, Jesus!

Sadly, it continues today in my country
and worldwide.

Our idols are different from theirs but just as much a stench in Your nostrils.

Revival, LORD!

Please.

Send a revival.

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes-opened awareness:

“When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor, he was enraged. Yet having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead, Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes.”
(Esther 3:5-6)

We’d like to think, “Surely people that evil don’t exist!” Jesus.

But sadly, yes, they do.

O God!

I look to You as my only – and 100% effective –

Supernatural Defense.

Pray this Lazaroo in sober agreement:

“So the Lord God said to the serpent, ‘Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.”’”
(Genesis 3:14)

The happiness of this beautiful garden You created was destroyed, Jesus.

Sadly, the repercussions that fell on the human race
continue to this very day.

May I never again fall for one of Satan’s lies!

Pray this Lazaroo with steely determination:

“Give careful thought to the day when the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid.”
(Haggai 2:18)

What a day that was, Jesus!

So much happiness, so much hope, so much rejoicing.

Times of beginning are glorious.

After all, most people never start!

Sadly, however, the rest of the story is this:

Far more people begin than finish.

I long to do both, Father!

A great start…all the way straight through to a great finish.

I’m in Your hands.
