Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Did not one God create us?”
(Malachi 2:10)

Yes, Jesus, You did.

You’re my Creator, my Father, my Indweller
my Savior, Best Friend, Guide and Protector
my LORD and my God!

You have all rights to me.

Do with me as You will.
I’m Yours! Use me!

I long to bring You praise, honor and glory.

I’m determined to tell as many people as possible about You
so they can experience you as I do:

deep, daily, moment-by-moment

1on1.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day…”
(Zechariah 2:11)

What a glorious day that will be, Jesus.

I can’t wait!

The golden vision of nation after nation

willingly aligning themselves with You as their God?

Breathtaking.

At the very least –

I long to see with my own eyes
my nation join herself to You.

That…would take a miracle.

But if it pleases You to do so
use me to help bring it to pass.

Pray this Lazaroo with no-holds-barred surrender:

“…give careful thought…”
(Haggai 2:18)

That’s one of those statements that goes without saying Jesus

and still needs to be said.

Of course, I know I should give careful to important issues.

But what I keep forgetting
is that it’s all important.

My challenge is compounded by the troubling reality

that what I sometimes think is important
isn’t nearly as crucial as what I dismiss as unimportant

which means I’d better give everything I say and do

careful thought.

Pray this Lazaroo with excuseless humility:

“…before the fierce anger of the LORD comes upon you…”
(Zephaniah 2:2)

That’s the last thing I want, Jesus!

I know You’re unimaginably longsuffering.
I know You’re loving, merciful and kind.
You’re unbelievably patient with me.

But there’s a line, isn’t there?

One I’d better never cross.

The thing is, I can’t see it, can’t tell when I’m close.

So I’d better turn around now

change whatever I know needs to be corrected
while I still can.

Pray this Lazaroo in passionate gratitude:

“…they dart about like lightning.”
(Nahum 2:4)

It’s not much fun to have enemies who can do that, Jesus!

They’re too fast.
I can’t keep track of them.

I don’t know when the next attack is coming
or where it’s coming from.

I can feel their thunder
way down in my bones.

If they succeed in striking me
I’m fried.

But You Are my God!

You Are my Protector!

I will not fear!

…for You are LORD of the lightning.

Pray this Lazaroo with growing understanding:

“…like men returning from battle.”
(Micah 2:8)

What a privilege to be able to come home after a battle, Jesus!

Without question, the most fun is to come home to a huge welcome
because I won that battle.

But even if I lost the battle, even if I was injured
coming home means I’m still alive.

Of course, sometimes I’m coming home to another battle.

Sooner or later there’s always another battle.

And all my victories
are in You.

Pray this Lazaroo with overwhelming gratitude:

“Jonah obeyed the word of the LORD…”
(Jonah 3:3)

Finally, Jesus.

After he disobeyed You the first time.
After he ran from You.
After You had to scare the living daylights out of him.

Now he obeys.

Sadly, I can identify!

How many times have You had to correct me
turn me around?

You could say, “Too late, Bucko! I’m sick and tired of you.”

But You don’t.

With loving, forgiving arms open wide

You welcome me back home.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“This company of Israelite exiles…will possess the land…”
(Obadiah 1:20)

That’s not usually how it works, Jesus…

until You step in and work it!

Normally, exiles have no power, no leverage to make anything significant happen.

They’re outsiders. Most of them merely subsist.

But when You rise up in the heart of the weak to do great and mighty things

who can stop them?

Rise up within me, LORD!

In Your love, wisdom and power
rise up within me.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“The Sovereign LORD has spoken – who can but prophesy?”
(Amos 3:8)

I agree, Jesus.

When I know the message is from You

how can I keep quiet?
how dare I keep my mouth shut?

But that’s the essential qualifier, isn’t it?

I have to know You’re the One who’s spoken.

The last thing I want to do is tell somebody something in Your Name

when You haven’t said it.

Misquoting anyone is dangerous.

But misquoting You
is the worst.
