This is so opposite of the world I live in, Jesus.

What an opportunity in this darkness
to allow Your Light to shine!

I’m not in misery all the time, Jesus…

but when I’m in it…oh, do I want to get out of it!

The thing is, I don’t have the control I like to think I have.

When I’m really hurting, I can’t think clearly.
Sometimes what I try to stop the pain

makes it worse.

People may praise me for my accomplishments

They’re Yours.

Historians might wonder why Mary was chosen to be Your mother, Jesus

but Mary didn’t.

She immediately knew: It was her humble state.

Did that mean she was poor?
In part, yes.

But it was so much more.

She didn’t dip in and out of humility as she followed You.
That was her state – who she was all the time.

And so it must be mine.
