Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“…I will give you…both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.”
(1 Kings 3:13-14)

In spite of Your amazing promises to him

Solomon strayed, Jesus.

How is that even possible?

I guess the same way I stray
in spite of all Your amazing promises to me.

Please rise up within me
to break this terrible cycle!

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.”
(James 3:6)

I don’t like to think of my tongue like this, Jesus!

But I wonder how many people have felt the fires of hell

from some of the harsh, judgmental, evil words
I have spoken over my lifetime.

May it never again be so!

Pray this Lazaroo in holy fear:

“Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.”
(Haggai 2:21)

Getting an assignment like this from You would be a challenge, Jesus.

First of all, it’s hard to deliver bad news.

Secondly, news this huge and terrifying
would almost certainly directly impact me.

Finally, what if You didn’t do it in the governor’s lifetime?
I’d look like a false prophet.

But ultimately, none of that matters, does it?

My job is very simple:

Obey.

“Has not the LORD Almighty determined…”

I can stop the sentence right there, Jesus.

You’ve determined it all.

Everything that has happened, is happening, will happen –

has been decided by You.

Obviously, I don’t know most of what You’ve got cooking

except for those things You’ve spelled out in Your Word.

So for me

following You every step of the way

is the adventure of my lifetime!

Show me what You want me know!
