Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“As Your Majesty was lying there, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen.”
(Daniel 2:29)

You Are the Revealer of Mysteries, Jesus!

You revealed Your mysteries to Daniel
so he could reveal them to the king.

I have no idea why You wanted King Nebuchadnezzar to know these things.

But I can guess at why You revealed them to Daniel:

He’s one of your all-time favorites!

…as I long to be.

Pray this Lazaroo in sobered recognition:

“In the last times there will be scoffers…”
(Jude 1:17)

As long as Satan has been doing his dirty work, Jesus

there have been scoffers –

ugly-spirited, detestable people who ridicule truth
who jeer, mock and treat with contempt
those who trust in Your Name.

But in the last times, their numbers will multiply.

They will be found everywhere –

in the streets, universities, entertainment, marketplace
in the highest offices of the land.

Just guessing…

but we might be in the last times.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“I came to the exiles who lived at Tel Aviv near the Kebar River. And there, where they were living, I sat among them for seven days—overwhelmed.”
(Ezekiel 3:15)

That’s how bad Ezekiel’s countrymen had become, Jesus.

He couldn’t believe what he was seeing!

Your people doing detestable things – things forbidden in Your Law.
Most of all – unthinkably! – Your people worshiping other gods.

Once they forsook you
the vile behavior soon followed.

O Jesus!

Keep me close to You!

Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…show hospitality to such people so that we may work together…”
(3 John 1:8)

So, Jesus…

am I to conclude that treating people inhospitably
may somewhat hinder our ability to work together?

Ha! Makes sense.

It’s not just about the work, is it?

Maybe it’s not even mostly about the work.

It’s about the relationships.

My 1on1 relationship with You.
My relationship with each person.
My relationship with the group.

Do you use the work

to bring Your kids together?

Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“He has hurled down the splendor of Israel from heaven to earth…”
(Lamentations 2:1)

Yes, You did, Jesus.

And what a terrible thing it was to behold!

For one shining moment in time

Israel was the envy of every nation on earth.

But she sinned. Turned away from You to other gods

and no God.

Still…You love her!

For the sake of Your servant David, a man after Your own heart
You promised to restore her!

Even now…it’s beginning to happen.

Pray this Lazaroo on high alert:

“Many deceivers…”
(2 John 1:7)

It’s hard for me to believe how many deceivers there are, Jesus.

They’re everywhere –
in the places I least expect them.

Well…that’s what a deceiver is, isn’t it?

Spreading lies where I thought I would hear only truth.

I’m skeptical when I near the places liars usually gather.

But I dare not let down my guard anywhere.

Satan shows up in government…in court…at home…in church.

The straightedge of Your Word
is my only hope.

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes that see:

“How can you say, ‘I am not defiled; I have not run after the Baals’? See how you behaved in the valley; consider what you have done.”
(Jeremiah 2:23)

It’s much easier for me to see how they defiled themselves, Jesus

than it is to see how I’ve done the same.

No, I haven’t run after anything called, “Baal.”

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t idols in my life –

anyone or anything I honor above You.

Open my eyes!

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“In that day people will throw away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship.”
(Isaiah 2:20)

There is coming a day, Jesus…

when everyone who trusts anyone or anything other than You
will discover what fools they’ve been!

Am I trusting anything or anyone but You?

If so, I beg You to show me!

I’d rather throw it to the moles and bats now

than wait till then.

Pray this Lazaroo repelled in horror:

“…God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment…”
(2 Peter 2:4)

That’s a lot of angels, Jesus

an incredible number of cells in those gloomy dungeons
all of them writhing in unspeakable torment
awaiting certain, eternal judgment.

Just thinking about it gives me the willies.

I’m so thankful my trust in You changes my destination
from hell to heaven!

Please give me the courage

to warn others.
