Pray this Lazaroo with faith in the God who can:

“I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. [Friends]: Eat, friends, and drink; drink your fill of love.”
(Song of Songs 5:1)

You’ve placed the Song of Songs in the middle of our Bibles, Jesus

to remind us You’re the Creator of sexual love

and when it’s kept between a husband and wife

it’s beautiful and holy!

Pray this Lazaroo in supernatural awareness:

“You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain. Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruits, with henna and nard, nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with every kind of incense tree, with myrrh and aloes and all the finest spices.”
(Song of Songs 4:12-14)

Solomon had a way with words, Jesus

and no wonder:

You’re the one who gave them to him!

Please give me the words I need to

bless
encourage
uplift
strengthen

those You’ve placed in my life!

Go to school as you pray this Lazaroo:

“How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume more than any spice! Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue. The fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.”
(Song of Songs 4:10-11)

Such over-the-top language may embarrass us, Jesus.

But unless I miss my guess

Solomon’s Shulammite bride
loved every word of it!

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.”
(Song of Songs 4:9)

You have stolen my heart, Jesus!

with one Promise from Your Word

followed by a thousand more

with Your death on the cross for me

followed by Your resurrection
and the certainty that because You live
I will live forever with You also.

Correction:

You didn’t steal my heart.
It was Yours before time began.

Pray this Lazaroo in fervency of spirit:

“Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber.”
(Joel 2:15-16)

Wow, Jesus.

Talk about an important gathering!

Most of all…

because it’s a meeting called by You.

May I never miss any meeting You all me to

or anything You call me to do

morning, noon or night.

Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“Does a young woman forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my people have forgotten me, days without number. How skilled you are at pursuing love! Even the worst of women can learn from your ways. On your clothes is found the lifeblood of the innocent poor, though you did not catch them breaking in.”
(Jeremiah 2:32-34)

How could I ever forget You, Jesus?

And yet when I repeatedly sin the same sins

that’s exactly what I’ve done.

Pray this Lazaroo in awareness of your deepest need:

“…in the hiding places on the mountainside…”
(Song of Songs 2:14)

With such language Solomon wooed his bride, Jesus…

even as You call to me.

It is true that I encounter You when I’m with Your children

so often surprised at how sweet their fellowship can be
especially when they lay aside fear and pretense
daring to be their true Christian selves.

But it is in my times alone with You

1on1

that I experience the deepest, sweetest joy.
