Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“…Moses went back to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, ‘Let me return to my own people in Egypt to see if any of them are still alive.’ Jethro said, ‘Go, and I wish you well.’” Now the Lord had said to Moses… ‘Go back to Egypt, for all those who wanted to kill you are dead.’”
(Exodus 4:18-19)

Egypt was the last place Moses wanted to go, Jesus.

But that didn’t matter.

When You tell me to do something

that settles it.

Pray this Lazaroo with desperate desire:

“Did I not make you swear by the Lord and warn you, ‘On the day you leave to go anywhere else, you can be sure you will die’? At that time you said to me, ‘What you say is good. I will obey.’ Why then did you not keep your oath to the Lord and obey the command I gave you?”
(1 Kings 2:42-43)

What Shimei swore before You didn’t matter, Jesus!

He was rotten to the core.

Only You know those who have potential

and those who have none.

When I need to know

show me!

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Ezer and Elead were killed by the native-born men of Gath, when they went down to seize their livestock. Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him.
(1 Chronicles 7:21-22)

The loss of Ephraim’s livestock didn’t even register, Jesus

in comparison to the loss of his sons.

I’m sure he appreciated his relative’s attempts to comfort him

but the agony of this kind of tragedy
doesn’t disappear overnight.

There is a comfort

only You can give.

Pray this Lazaroo with fiery devotion:

“…his mother spoke up and said, ‘No! He is to be called John.’ They said to her, ‘There is no one among your relatives who has that name.’ Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child.”
(Luke 1:60-62)

They totally disrespected John the Baptist’s mother, Jesus.

Since what she said didn’t make sense to them
they ignored her.

But she knew what You wanted.

What the crowd thought

didn’t matter.

Pray this Lazaroo with holy boldness:

“Then the royal officials at the king’s gate asked Mordecai, ‘Why do you disobey the king’s command?’”
(Esther 3:3)

The answer was simple, Jesus:

Haman was a wicked man who did not deserve to be honored.

But that wasn’t even the biggest reason.

Mordecai wasn’t about to bow down to anyone but You.
The fact that it was the king who ordered it was irrelevant

even though it might cost Mordecai his life.

May that kind of holy courage be mine!
