Pray this Lazaroo with inexpressible gratitude:

“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.”
(Hebrews 4:9-11)

I rest, Jesus –

from my futile work of attempting to earn my salvation.

I can’t – no matter how hard I try.

I confess that my faith in You –

Your death, burial and resurrection –

is my only hope for eternal life!

Pray this Lazaroo in renewed determination:

“…I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions…”
(Colossians 1:24)

This has to be one of the most baffling statements Paul ever made, Jesus.

You paid it all!

No matter how much I suffer for You

Your horrific sacrifice on the cross
stands as payment in full for my salvation.

No one else could do it.
Nothing else is required.

But Paul was saying there’s a whole lot of sacrificing that must be done

so others will know.

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“…remember that at that time you were separate from Christ…”
(Ephesians 2:12)

I don’t like to remember that time, Jesus.

It’s too painful.

But clearly, You want me to remember it!

Why?

Is it so I’ll be grateful for my connection with You now?

I am. I truly am.

Especially remembering what it was like to not have

Your indwelling Presence
the intimacy of our ongoing conversation throughout the day

the sweet assurance of my salvation in heaven.

Pray this Lazaroo with bulldog faith:

“…the horseman will not save his life.”
(Amos 2:15)

You’re my only hope, Jesus.

If things go south
I can’t hop on my horse
ride away and hide.

No horse can gallop that fast.
No hideaway can’t be found.

Except You.

You’re my deliverer.
You’re my Rock.

You’re my salvation.
You’re my rescuer – faster than a speeding bullet.

When I’m in You, no one can catch me.

When I hide myself in You
I can’t be found.
