Pray this Lazaroo in open-eyed awareness:

“Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.’”
(Genesis 4:6-7)

Sin is crouching at my door, too, Jesus.

May I never forget how passionately and persistently
sin desires to have me!

But may I always remember:

Greater are You in me
than the one who is in the world!

Pray this Lazaroo in heart-pounding love:

“But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish. Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence. Strike them with terror, Lord; let the nations know they are only mortal.”
(Psalm 9:18-20)

All too often, Jesus

the powerful trample on the needy.

But You see what they’re doing.

Everyone You’ve created is precious to You –
especially the poor, the hurting, the downtrodden.

It is You who are their Defender

who will take up their case.

Rejoice! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Because he had nine hundred chariots fitted with iron and had cruelly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years, they cried to the Lord for help. Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time. She held court under the Palm of Deborah…and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.”
(Judges 4:3-5)

Jabin’s army commander Sisera didn’t know it yet, Jesus

but his nine hundred iron chariots were like straw before You.

May I never forget:

The Power is with me
when I’m with You!

Pray this Lazaroo in grateful perspective:

“So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.”
(1 Corinthians 3:21-23)

It’s okay for us to be grateful for the leaders You’ve so gifted, Jesus

but not to put them on a pedestal of worship.

You’ve gifted us all…even me!

May I never forget that.

Pray this Lazaroo with over-the-top trust:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
(1 Peter 2:10)

You blessed Your people, Jesus!

But You didn’t bless them
just to be blessing them.

You blessed them
to be a blessing.

May I never forget:

Every blessing I receive from You
creates an opportunity to be Your blessing
to somebody else!

Pray this Lazaroo in passionate gratitude:

“’…I have chosen you,’ declares the Lord Almighty.’”
(Haggai 2:23)

To be chosen for something good is gratifying, Jesus.

But to be chosen by You?

Priceless.

Before You ever chose me

You knew me
because You made me.

You knew the countless sins I would commit
the mistakes I’d make

and still You chose me!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

No matter what I face

no matter what trials You take me through

may I never forget that eternally life-changing fact!

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. ‘If you are the Son of God,’ he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: ‘’He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
(Matthew 4:5-6)

Help me never forget, Jesus:

When the devil quotes Scripture

it’s always twisted out of context
always for an evil purpose.

Remember! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him. The king said to Daniel, ‘Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.’”
(Daniel 2:46-47)

Everything this king said about you is true, Jesus.

But in time, he forgot
and paid a horrific price.

May I never, ever, ever forget!

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, from right where the priests are standing, and carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight.”
(Joshua 4:2-3)

You wanted to make certain they remembered this miracle, didn’t You, Jesus?

May I never, never, never forget all You have done for me

…even if I have to erect a pile of stones somewhere!

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and because they did this evil the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel. Getting the Ammonites and Amalekites to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms.
(Judges 3:12-13)

Jericho – the City of Palms, Jesus!

Barely 30 years after You sent those walls tumbling down
giving Joshua a great victory

Israel’s sin took it away from them!

Please, LORD –

Help me learn my lessons

and never forget.
