“…if you continue in your faith…not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.”
(Colossians 1:23)

“I’m unmoved from the hope held out in the gospel.”

Powerful, Jesus.

When I pray for something that hasn’t happened.

I’m unmoved from the hope held out in the gospel.

When I lose my job.

I’m unmoved from the hope held out in the gospel.

When my doctor diagnoses me with an incurable illness.

I’m unmoved from the hope held out in the gospel.

If only that would happen every time I pray, Jesus!

I know You did it for this man.
I know You have the power to do it today.
I know You love me enough to do it for me…

if that’s what’s best.

That’s why it doesn’t happen every time I pray, isn’t it?

Because in my lack of wisdom and knowledge
I seldom ask for what’s best.
