You keep Your promises, Jesus –

no matter what happens in the meantime

Pray this Lazaroo as you confidently wait on God:

“‘The Lord bless you, my daughter,’ he replied. ‘This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor.’”
(Ruth 3:10)

Ruth continued to live in a way that honored You, Jesus.

Because You’re who You Are
that was enough.

I have no idea how You’re going to intervene for me.

Knowing You, I expect it will be totally different than I imagine.

But I do know my part in Your miracle:

Continue to live in a way that honors You.

Pray this Lazaroo with informed caution:

“Woe to the city of blood, full of lies, full of plunder…”
(Nahum 3:1)

People would expect a city full of plunder

to be in pretty good shape, Jesus!

But it’s the blood they’ve shed to get it
the lies they’ve told to keep it

that earn Your pronouncement of woe.

When You say, “Woe!”

I’d better say, “Woah!”

and quickly repent
stop harming others
stop telling lies

or I’ll discover firsthand
just how terrible Your woes can be.

It’s the leaders You hold most accountable, isn’t it, Jesus?

You expect them to set the standard for their followers

to love justice and do what’s right
But with honesty, integrity and hard work –

not by crushing the innocent.

Plead for understanding, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“How could I look your brother Joab in the face?”
(2 Samuel 2:22)

Abner had every reason to believe that even if it was self-defense

to kill Joab’s little brother would sign his own death warrant, Jesus!

But he was trying to reason with a kid who didn’t care.

All Asahel wanted to do was kill the great Abner.

What should I do when I’m caught between two really bad choices?

O Holy Spirit!

Please open my eyes!
Show me!
