Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“Why do you now cry aloud—have you no king? Has your ruler perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor? Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion…you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the Lord will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.”
(Micah 4:9-10)

When my sins have cost me my home, Jesus

is all lost?

No.

Even in a strange and foreign land

You can rescue me!

Pray this Lazaroo in humble gratitude:

“Now Cain said to his brother Abel, ‘Let’s go out to the field.’ While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Where is your brother Abel?’
‘I don’t know,’ he replied. ‘Am I my brother’s keeper?’”
(Genesis 4:8-9)

Cain struck out, Jesus:

He deceived his brother.
He killed his brother.
He lied to God.

But I’ve struck out more times than Cain.

What can wash away my sins?
Nothing but Your blood, my Jesus.

Pray this Lazaroo with growing understanding:

“Hear this, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel, who despise justice and distort all that is right…because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.”
(Micah 3:9,12)

Your gift and call to be a leader is a staggering responsibility Jesus.

It gives to a human being the ability to sway others

for right
or for wrong

and then to face the consequences.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“Then Ruth the Moabite said, ‘He even said to me, “Stay with my workers until they finish harvesting all my grain.”’ Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, ‘It will be good for you, my daughter, to go with the women who work for him, because in someone else’s field you might be harmed.’”
(Ruth 2:21-22)

That’s what I plan to do, Jesus:

Stay with You.

I have no question in my mind whatsoever:

If I stray from Your loving care
I absolutely will be harmed!

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“‘I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up. People staggered from town to town for water but did not get enough to drink, yet you have not returned to me,’ declares the Lord.”
(Amos 4:7-8)

I must be missing some of the signs You’re giving me, Jesus.

While I’m wondering why in the world these things are happening to me

You’re saying:

“Return to Me!”

Pray this Lazaroo in humble adulation:

“They destroyed the towns, and each man threw a stone on every good field until it was covered. They stopped up all the springs and cut down every good tree. Only Kir Hareseth was left with its stones in place, but men armed with slings surrounded it and attacked it.”
(2 Kings 3:25)

And so it goes for Your enemies, Jesus.

May I never doubt for a single moment:

Sooner or later, in Your perfect time
they’ll get theirs.

Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
(1 Corinthians 3:8-9)

Doesn’t matter where I serve in Your Church, Jesus –

up front or behind the scenes –

our purpose is the same:

We’re serving You!

Since I’m Your field

make me productive!

Since I’m Your building

make me welcoming
for those who need shelter.

Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“’You will overthrow every fortified city and every major town. You will cut down every good tree, stop up all the springs, and ruin every good field with stones.’ The next morning, about the time for offering the sacrifice, there it was—water flowing from the direction of Edom! And the land was filled with water.”
(2 Kings 3:19-20)

That didn’t make sense, Jesus!

Water? They hadn’t asked for water!

But water was exactly what they needed.

Like I, so often…

they just didn’t know it.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Because of this the land dries up, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea are swept away.”
(Hosea 4:2-3)

Most people have no idea, Jesus –

that our blatant, willful, persistent sin
can negatively impact the environment
ultimately destroying wildlife.

Please, LORD:

Keep me pure!
