I’ve had moments like that too, Jesus!

When You’ve done something for me that never could have happened

had You not answered my fervent prayers.

Of course, when I testify about Your provision to others

not all of them are convinced.
In their minds, some attempt to explain it away.

But I know.

And You know.

And that’s all that matters.

Some people don’t, Jesus –

at least not that I can tell.

Of course, maybe they have it, but I’m not seeing it.

I might be expecting them to show it in one way
while they’re showing it in another.

Maybe I have such a focused agenda, such strong opinions

that I’m totally blind
to the different expressions of compassion in others

…as they may be to mine.

But You see.

That’s all that matters.

It’s good for me to be reverent on the inside, Jesus

to mean well
have good intentions.

But it can’t stop there, can it?

I’ve got to follow through.

What’s in my heart

has to show on the outside.

Nobody but You is able to see what I meant to say or do.

They’re stuck with what I actually said and did.

As far as they’re concerned?

That’s all that matters.
