Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Woe to him who piles up stolen goods…!”
(Habakkuk 2:6)

That’s another level, isn’t it, Jesus?

To steal one or two things now and then is bad enough.

But to pile up high what’s been stolen

says something about the thief’s heart.

It’s the difference between sometimes losing my battle against temptation

and embracing temptation as a way of life.

Keep me in the good fight, Father!

May what Satan dangles in front of me
never become my master.

Pray this Lazaroo in mounting expectation:

“The LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob…”
(Nahum 2:2)

This is such awesome news, Jesus!

There was a day when Your people – descendants of Jacob –

were the greatest nation on earth.

Then they turned their backs on you and followed after other gods

forcing You to remove Your hand of blessing from them.

But another day is coming, when Israel will recognize You as their Messiah

as I do now

in anticipation of the Day of Your Splendor.

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“…you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.”
(Micah 2:5)

This was disastrous, Jesus.

Unless one of Your anointed priests was available
casting the lot was nothing more than a roll of the dice.

Your anointing matters –

not just on Jewish priests
but on Your people

including me.

You’ve anointed all who know Your truth and have placed their trust in You alone.

To not have that anointing
is disastrous.

Pray this Lazaroo in fervency of spirit:

“Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace…”
(Jonah 2:8)

You are so good to me, Jesus!

You’re beyond good to every person
who draws a breath on this planet.

You don’t treat us as our sins deserve!

Over and over and over again
You forgive us times beyond counting.

You do, that is…

if we look to You as our God.

But those who trust some god instead of You

turn their backs
on their only hope.

Open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“There will be no survivors…”
(Obadiah 1:18)

You were referring to the house of Esau, Jesus

but it also applies to the house of me.

No one survives their time on this earth.

The world’s oldest living person died three days ago.

Until You return, the day is coming
when the world’s youngest living person will do the same –

as will everyone in-between

including me.

But that’s okay, because after I close my eyes here

I get to see You.

Pray this Lazaroo with bulldog faith:

“You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.”
(Amos 3:2)

What a vital reminder, Jesus!

With great blessing
comes proportionate responsibility.

Of those who’ve been given much
much will be demanded.

Of course, You shouldn’t have to demand it.

With gratitude, it should be freely given.

I’ve been blessed with more than I can begin to comprehend!

How dare I give You less
than my all?

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“At the sight of them, nations are in anguish…”
(Joel 2:6)

You’re talking about the supernatural plague You will one day bring on the earth, Jesus –

in the Day of the LORD.

Anyone who trusts Your Word trembles at the thought.

Those of us who believe in You shake our heads in deep sadness.

But there are those who – because they don’t believe in Your resurrection –

shrug it off.

Sadly, those are the very ones

who will experience it.

Pray this Lazaroo with full-on ardor:

“Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods…”
(Hosea 3:1)

Unthinkable, Jesus!

You told Hosea to show his love to his wife
though she had cheated on him.

But as hard as that had to be

that was only one sinner forgiving another.

When You forgive us

It’s perfection loving imperfection
The Sinless One loving the habitual offender.

If I want to receive that kind of love

that’s the love I must offer.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.”
(Revelation 2:5)

I do want you to come to me, Jesus

but not for that reason!

So I repent –

of all the evil thoughts I’ve entertained
of all the unkind words I’ve spoken
of all the things I’ve done that did not honor You

knowing that repentance is not mere words.

It’s action –

changing course
doing a 180

from this moment forward.
