Determine to set an example, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Jedaiah son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house, and Hattush son of Hashabneiah made repairs next to him.”
(Nehemiah 3:10)

I love that Jedaiah repaired the wall opposite his house, Jesus!

So many people are interested solely in their own houses.
But You expanded his vision.

The example he set inspired Hattush to start making repairs, too.

Oh, the power of a good, strong example!

That’s how Your walls get built

so Satan’s walls can be torn down.

Pray this Lazaroo in mind-blown worship:

“…the man Christ Jesus…”
(1 Timothy 2:5)

You surely are, Jesus!

Fully man.

Your mother Mary was fully human

transferring her humanity to You.

If You weren’t human

You couldn’t have been tempted like I am
couldn’t have died for my sins.

Of course, God was Your Father

making You fully God –

the God-man!

which is why You said “No!” to every temptation
making You the perfect, sinless sacrifice

who rose from the dead to grant me eternal life.

Pray this Lazaroo in mounting excitement:

“…and with trumpets…”
(Ezra 3:10)

You love trumpets, Jesus!

There’s the Festival of Trumpets –
a day of sabbath rest commemorated with trumpet blasts.

You designated two silver trumpets to call Your people together.

You sent your armies to war with the blast of trumpets.

At the last trumpet, the bodies of those who’ve trusted You
will be raised to life and eternally transformed.

You sure love trumpets!

Or maybe we’re the ones who love trumpets

…and You love us.

Pray this Lazaroo with excuseless humility:

“They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:10-11)

If I’m to get my head around this, Jesus

I’m going to have to put on my big-boy britches.

You’re saying that when someone immovably refuses to embrace truth

You grant them the sickening alternative they’ve chosen:

a mindset ravenously eager
to swallow Satan’s biggest lie.

Pray this Lazaroo with determination:

“He began building on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.”
(2 Chronicles 3:2)

Pretty specific on this Ash Wednesday Valentines Day, Jesus!

That’s exactly when Solomon began building Your temple.
There’s never been another like it.

He built other things, as well

but none more important than this.

When will I begin building my most important project, Father?

Have I already begun
or is that day, month and year still ahead of me?

Only looking back

will I know.

Pray this Lazaroo in grateful remembrance:

“…when you received the word of God…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:13)

Thank You for that time I received Your Word, Jesus!

I’m not talking about the first time I heard it.

Perhaps it didn’t fully penetrate.

I’m not talking about the time I first read some of it.

Perhaps I wasn’t as focused as I should have been.

I’m talking about the day, the hour, the very moment –

when I said, “Yes!” to You

with every part of me

forever.

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“These were the descendants of Aaron…”
(1 Chronicles 6:50)

Aaron’s long gone from this life, Jesus –

as are the descendants who came after him.

So, when I’m long gone –

who will be my descendants?

I hope they won’t be limited to my natural family!

I long for spiritual descendants –

those who grew up in my household
and those whose feet never crossed my threshold

who grasped the torch I handed them

and carried it all the way for You.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest repentance:

“…to present you…without blemish…”
(Colossians 1:22)

Well, that would certainly require one of Your greatest miracles, Jesus!

My blemishes are without number.

In fact, “blemish” is too small a word for what they are.

They’re disfigurements.

When I look in the mirror of my life

and dare to hold Your Image beside mine

I’m ashamed.

The one thing that gives me hope

is the certain knowledge of how much worse I’d be
if I hadn’t given myself to You.

Take a step back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you go with me to fight against Moab?”
(2 Kings 3:7)

Three kings, Jesus –

Joram, wicked King of Israel
Jehoshaphat, good King of Judah
The evil, rebellious King of Moab

So one evil king asks the good king to help him fight against the other evil king

and because the good king knows they were once brothers
he agrees.

Please, LORD –

give me the wisdom to avoid messes like that!

Pray this Lazaroo in humble adulation:

“…you will be saved – and that by God.”
(Philippians 1:28)

You’re the only one who saves, Jesus!

Not just from hell
but from every other bad situation.

How many times have I thought someone or something else did it

when You were the One behind it?

Forgive me.
I should know better.

Yes, you work through people, circumstances – even angels!

But it’s still You

loving me, protecting me

Even when I’m too blind to give thanks where it’s due.
