I really need Your help with this one, Jesus!

I have a feel for when something is newsworthy.

There’s a tendency in me

to want to blurt out what I know.

But I can’t, can I? I don’t have Your permission!

The only time for me to pass it on
is when it’s truly helpful – not when it’s merely juicy –

lest I sow a poisonous seed
I most assuredly do not want to reap!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“…she tied the scarlet cord in the window.”
(Joshua 2:21)

And by that scarlet cord, Jesus

Rahab the prostitute saved hers and her family’s lives
when Joshua destroyed the city of Jericho.

I’m thinking of another scarlet cord, Father –

the blood of Your Son, shed on the cross
paying for the sins of all who believe.

Even less deserving than Rahab

I’m tying that scarlet cord in my window
for You to see when You come for Your own!

Watch! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I will show…signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.”
(Acts 2:19)

When I read this prophetic passage, Jesus

it’s hard to ignore the volcanic activity happening
as we speak.

But even though much attention is being paid to these volcanoes –

especially because of social media and their location –
there’s no current increase of volcanic eruptions worldwide.

Which leads me to wonder –

what mammoth displays of Your power are awaiting us
right around the corner?

“Because of you the LORD became angry with me…”
(Deuteronomy 1:37)

Well…not exactly, Jesus.

You didn’t become angry with Moses
because of what the Israelites did.

You became angry with Moses
because of his response to what they did.

Everybody stands before You for their own actions –

not those of someone else –

because we’re all accountable directly to You.

So maybe I’d better focus on my own
thoughts, words, actions

instead of trying to control – or blame – somebody else.

which faces the Mount of Olives –

Historians might wonder why Mary was chosen to be Your mother, Jesus

but Mary didn’t.

She immediately knew: It was her humble state.

Did that mean she was poor?
In part, yes.

But it was so much more.

She didn’t dip in and out of humility as she followed You.
That was her state – who she was all the time.

And so it must be mine.

The goat had to die, Jesus

because of the leader’s sin.

You no longer give us that command.

Your death on the cross
pays for our sins in full.

Your resurrection

proves You have the power and authority
to forgive every sin.

But how many of Your people have ended up scapegoats

for their leader’s sin?

O God!

Give us leaders after Your own heart
full of compassion for Your people.

There are times I need to keep my mouth shut, Jesus.

Specifically, when You tell me to!

You told this man You cured of leprosy to tell no one –

knowing that if He did, the religious leaders would seek Your death.

But you place no such restriction on us today.

Just the opposite!

You’ve told us to go into the whole world
and preach Your good news.

Which means:

You’ve issued that command
to me.

but it’s the one that says it all:

I AM.

You’re…Always.

Without beginning.
Without end.

No wonder I worship You!

No wonder I praise You for everything good
call on You when I’m in distress!

No wonder I desire deep, daily, moment-by-moment, 1on1 relationship with You!

You ARE.
