“He shall burn all the fat on the altar…”
(Leviticus 4:26)

Just as You commanded the priest to offer an animal on the altar, Jesus

so You invite me to offer myself to You as a living sacrifice
holy and pleasing in Your sight.

As I do, please enable me to burn up all the fat!

By that, I mean those things I’m doing that are unhealthy –

physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually –

whatever is cheating me out of Your best.

There’s a simple reason for that, Jesus:

You created every one of them.

They’re all Yours –

those who know You and embrace it
those who reject You and deny it.

Red yellow, black, brown and white

they are precious in Your sight.
You love all the people of the world.

That’s why You died on the cross

paying for the sins of everyone who trusts in You.

Whosoever will.
Even me.

It helps to see who You’re willing to be associated with, Jesus.

Isaac was born when his dad Abraham was 100 years old
and his mother Sarah was 90!

Abraham almost sacrificed him
because that’s what he thought You wanted.

No, Isaac wasn’t perfect.

He lied about his wife.
Played favorites with his children.

But You accomplished great things through this flawed man.

Please, LORD!

Adam and Eve were attempting to hide from You, Jesus.

From You!
Seriously?

How foolish could they possibly be?
You see everything, everybody, everywhere.

But that’s what sin does.

It not only makes me want to hide from You

It makes me stupid.

I don’t want to stupidly waste my time trying to hide from the One who sees all.

Guess I’d better stop my sinning.

The Creator of the heavens and earth?

They probably assumed it had some non-literal meaning.

But it didn’t.

You did what You said You would do!

You entered this earth as a baby!
and we had You with us for 33 amazing, miraculous years.
