Pray this Lazaroo overwhelmed with gratitude:

“The LORD…appeared to me and said: ‘ I have watched over you…’”
(Exodus 3:16)

You’ve never appeared to me, Jesus –

at least not that I know! –

but You sure have watched over me.

You promised You would

and You’ve kept Your promise.

In fact, You’ve kept Your promises to me

far better than I’ve kept mine to You.

There’s nothing fair about that.

Since I’ve broken my promises
You have every right to break Yours.

But hallelujah!
You don’t.

Pray this Lazaroo with rock-solid confidence:

“So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets…”
(Matthew 2:23)

Always, Jesus.

Always, always, always.
You always keep Your Word.

In this world of

“I was going to…”
“I meant to…”
“Something came up…”
“I may have been mistaken…”
“I hope this is good enough…”
“I have no idea what happened…”
“Oops!”

…and outright liars

the utter reliability of Your Word is the only thing I can trust

because You are the only one I can trust.

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Who told you that you were naked?”
(Genesis 3:11)

It wasn’t You, was it, Jesus?

It was listening to Satan and eating the forbidden fruit
that caused Adam and Eve to feel naked.

Of course, nothing about their appearance had changed.

They weren’t wearing clothes before their disobedience.

But here’s the thing:

Until they sinned, being unclothed didn’t bother them.
It was sin against You that brought shame.

As always.

Only in You

is my shame taken away.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers…?”
(Malachi 2:10)

Good question, Jesus.

If I had Godly parents, grandparents or ancestors –

any at all!

– why wouldn’t I follow their example?

But if – so far as I know –

nobody in my family was righteous

why wouldn’t I profane their evil covenant with Satan
and make a new covenant with You?

A covenant with You is a powerful thing that should never be broken.

A covenant with Satan must be broken.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“I will live among you…”
(Zechariah 2:11)

You’re everywhere present, Jesus…

so this is an intensification of Your Presence, isn’t it?

You’re always wherever I am

but there’s the potential of something closer
more palpable, more intimate.

Wow.

I want that.

Let me rephrase:
I want You.

But You want me, too, don’t You?

Oh, not merely in the sense
that I’ve prayed to receive You as my Savior

but in deep, daily, moment-by-moment
1on1 relationship with You.

Pray this Lazaroo with focused attention:

“Give careful thought…”
(Haggai 2:18)

I do give careful thought to some things, Jesus.

But I confess that I’m on automatic pilot with others.

Give me wisdom!

On the one hand, I don’t want to take anything for granted.
On the other hand, I don’t want to obsess on the obvious.

Please don’t let me skip over something that requires deeper consideration!

Neither allow me to spend one precious moment on time-wasters.

I’m so glad I have You!

Pray this Lazaroo with mounting desire:

“Seek the LORD…”
(Zephaniah 2:3)

At first that sounds strange, Jesus.

You’re everywhere!
How hard can it be to find You?

Besides, You’ve come to me times beyond counting
helping me, encouraging me, rescuing me.

But there’s always more of You to discover, isn’t there?

I’m only scratching the surface.
My knowledge of You is woefully incomplete.

Your greatness knows no limit!

The only limit is how passionately, persistently, relentlessly

I desire to know, love and follow You.

Pray this Lazaroo with growing understanding:

“He summons his picked troops, yet they stumble on their way.”
(Nahum 2:5)

What an honor to be chosen by You, Jesus –

to be given a holy task, a meaningful goal
a vital assignment!

But just because You’ve sent me

doesn’t mean I’ll complete my mission.

I have to stay deep, daily, moment-by-moment, 1on1 with You

or I’ll stumble along the way.

Sadly, that’s already happened – many times.

But hallelujah!

You keep picking me up
and sending me again.

Take heed! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“You take away my blessing…”
(Micah 2:9)

You want to bless us, Jesus.

You love to bless us.
You long to bless us!

But if we persist in our sins

we prevent You from blessing us as you so deeply desire.

Oh, in Your loving mercy You continue to bless us in countless ways –

in ways we so often ignore –

but not nearly as much as You would have blessed us

if only we had stayed true to You.
