Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“The man said, ‘The woman you put here with me…’”
(Genesis 3:12)

When You confronted Adam with his sin, Jesus

He immediately blamed You.

You’re the one who created Eve.

You’re the one who made her the kind of person she was.

Of course, Adam was overlooking one tiny issue:

You took her out of him.

Whatever was in her

she got from him.

O God! When You have to confront me

may I repent

rather than blame someone else.

Pray this Lazaroo in humble surrender:

“Judah has broken faith.”
(Malachi 2:11)

How do I deal with someone who’s broken faith with You, Jesus?

That’s totally different from someone who’s never known You, isn’t it?
It’s also different from someone who’s straying, but will return to You.

This is a person who once claimed to be a Christian
but has now thoroughly rejected You in front of everyone.

Based on Your Word, I have no choice, do I?

I’ve got to sever all ties.

Pray this Lazaroo in overwhelmed gratitude:

“…the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.”
(Zechariah 2:11)

When great things happen to me, Jesus

do I realize You’re the one I should thank?

True, You work through events, weather, people – even animals!

So it’s easy to forget that my blessings come through them

not from them.

Certainly, when people deliberately choose to be good to me

You bless them richly.

But with a grateful heart may I never forget:

It’s You.

Pray this Lazaroo with steely determination:

“Give careful thought to the day when the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid.”
(Haggai 2:18)

What a day that was, Jesus!

So much happiness, so much hope, so much rejoicing.

Times of beginning are glorious.

After all, most people never start!

Sadly, however, the rest of the story is this:

Far more people begin than finish.

I long to do both, Father!

A great start…all the way straight through to a great finish.

I’m in Your hands.

Pray this Lazaroo in passionate commitment:

“…you who do what he commands…”
(Zephaniah 2:3)

I long to be one of those people, Jesus!

There’s a difference between asking You to be my Savior
and becoming one of Your followers, isn’t it?

Well…there shouldn’t be
but for some people there is.

There are those who merely try to use You for a fire escape.

They want to make heaven and miss hell.

So do I!

But You also call me to do everything You say.

Pray this Lazaroo with growing understanding:

“You have plotted the ruin of many peoples…”
(Habakkuk 2:10)

Sounds like a serial killer, Jesus –

a murderer of happiness, peace, accomplishment, dreams.

This is someone who walks all over people

and enjoys doing it.

It’s all about them.
Never about others.

To them, people are pieces on a chessboard –

to be moved, then discarded.

Most of us have seen someone like that.

Some of us have been bulldozed by someone like that.

May I never be someone like that!

Cry out to God! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…the protective shield is put in place.”
(Nahum 2:5)

If there was ever a time our world needed a protective shield, Jesus

it’s now.

As of this morning, 156,800 confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been reported in 153 countries..

We don’t know how many have gone unreported

but we know the number is large.

We have been told the Coronavirus has killed 5,839 people

so far.

O God!

We beg You to raise Your protective shield over Your people!

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Get up, go away!”
(Micah 2:10)

When they come from You, Jesus

those words rock my world.

It’s so easy to become complacent where I am.

I have my routine.
I know where everything is.
I’ve carved out a spot for myself in this old world.
Even if there are things I don’t like, it’s what I’m used to.

But when You tell me to leave what’s familiar and forge a new path

I will…

as You go before me.

Pray this Lazaroo with God-inspired anticipation:

“On the first day…”
(Jonah 3:4)

First days are momentous, Jesus!

They’re full of excitement, promise, hope, new beginnings.

Sometimes.

Of course, I can also dread a first day.

It may represent the unknown.
It may remind me that this is only one step in a very long journey.

But ultimately, I have to keep undertaking first days, don’t I?

If I don’t begin, I’ll never finish.

But I beg You:

Don’t let me begin anything outside of Your will!

Pray this Lazaroo in grateful awe:

“…the exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad…”
(Obadiah 1:20)

Out of 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 41,173 verses and 774,746 words

this is the only place in the Bible that mentions Sepharad, Jesus.

Where is it? Nobody knows.

Well, of course they knew where it was back then, but today?

Not so much.

Maybe Iran, Turkey, Iberia, even Spain.

Or not.

How awesome that such an obscure, forgettable place of exile

cannot hide Your love for Your scattered people.
