Pray this Lazaroo with, “Now, I get it!” faith:

“…God…has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come.”
(Daniel 2:28)

I know You’re always right, just and fair, Jesus!

So why did you show the future to a heathen king?
There are a whole lot of righteous people who don’t get a peek!

Hmmm.

Is it to demonstrate that everyone belongs to You –
the good, bad and ugly?

Oh. Wait a minute!

Through Daniel and this sketchy king
You’re revealing the future to all of us!

Pray this Lazaroo in overwhelmed gratitude:

“…remember…”
(Jude 1:17)

What a powerful word, Jesus!

“Remember!”

There’s way too much I forget, isn’t there?

the wonderful truths in Your Word that daily sustain me
the countless blessings with which You’ve showered my life
my own sins when I’m tempted to look down on others
the wonderful, Godly people You’ve brought into my world
the many times You’ve rescued me when I was in trouble
how awesome is the home You’ve prepared…

that awaits me in heaven!

Pray this Lazaroo with mounting excitement:

“The Spirit then lifted me up and took me away…”
(Ezekiel 3:14)

This was happening in the vision You gave Ezekiel, Jesus –

a wondrous miracle of clarity and holy revelation!

Your visions are so real

that it’s hard to tell whether they’re happening in the body
or exclusively in the heart, soul, spirit, emotions and mind.

O Holy Spirit!

By Vision or Dream or in the body –
Lift me up and take me wherever You want me to go!

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“We ought therefore to show hospitality…”
(3 John 1:8)

It’s not enough to feel hospitable, is it, Jesus?

You want me to show it.
Others want me to show it.

But do I?

It’s so easy to become consumed
with my life, my work, my family, my pursuits –

to leave others to focus on their own lives
while I focus on mine.

Clearly, however, that’s not what You desire.

Open my heart, LORD!
to everyone You’re calling into my embrace.

Cry out to God for help as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…my heart is faint.”
(Lamentations 1:22)

That was true of Jeremiah then, Jesus

and sometimes it’s true of me –
but not always for the same reason!

It could be because I’m missing my 1on1 time with You

because I’ve deliberately sinned against You
because I’m hurting for someone I love
because I’m distressed about my country
because I’m under Satan’s attack
because of terrible hurt or loss in my own life.

O God, You! You alone!

can restore me.

Rejoice! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“As you have heard from the beginning…”
(2 John 1:6)

I’m thinking back to my beginning with You, Jesus!

The day when You drew me to Yourself.
The moment when I realized I believed!

The prayer I prayed, confessing my sinfulness
asking You to forgive me, to save me

to enter my life and lead me wherever You desire
all the way to heaven.

I’m still on that journey!

Closer than ever
trusting You every step of the way.

Pray this Lazaroo in humbled determination:

“I had planted you like a choice vine of sound and reliable stock. How then did you turn against me into a corrupt, wild vine?”
(Jeremiah 2:21)

When You drew me to Yourself and I asked you to be my Savior

You planted me in Your Church, Jesus!

But I confess:

I haven’t done nearly enough with what You’ve built into me!
I’m not giving You anything like the good return You deserve.

That has to change.

Now.

Pray this Lazaroo with undying love:

“…whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
(1 John 2:17)

Well, sign me up for Your will, Jesus!

I’ve come to the place where I don’t trust my will.
The only will I trust is Yours.

I don’t know enough to tell You which way I want to go.

As a matter of fact, I no longer care where I go
so long as I go where You want me to go.

Your will. Your way.

Always and forever!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“…the LORD alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will totally disappear.”
(Isaiah 2:17)

Oh, how I long for that day, Jesus!

when I finally rid myself of the idols
that continue to lurk inside my heart.

I’m repulsed by the graven images I see all around the world.

But the ugliest and most detestable false gods of all

are those things in my life that to this very day
I catch myself putting ahead of You.

Pray this Lazaroo in sobered attention:

“…God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell…”
(2 Peter 2:4)

Instructive, Jesus.

Obviously, You’re telling me this for a reason.

It’s not just to inform me of an historical event, is it?

You want me to take note…
and apply the lesson.

I’m pretty sure this is it:

There’s a hell reserved for those who listen to Satan
and reject You.

Message received and recorded.
Lesson absorbed.

Deep breath…

…ready for the test.
