Pray this Lazaroo in openhearted trust:

“Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you? You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.”
(2 Corinthians 3:1-2)

Bottom line? Paul’s got it right, Jesus.

The difference You make through me in the lives of others
tells the story about what kind of person I am.

What are my letters being written in others
even as we speak?

Pray this Lazaroo with a melting heart:

“As she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, ‘Let her gather among the sheaves and don’t reprimand her. Even pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.’”
(Ruth 2:15-16)

Boaz was so deeply touched by Ruth’s loyalty and character, Jesus

…that he responded with some deeply touching words of his own.

May I so live

…that others will be inspired by what I say and do!

Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.”
(1 Corinthians 2:15-16)

This is nothing short of mind-boggling, Jesus!

Truly awesome.

Because I have put my trust in You

You live in me in the Person of the Holy Spirit.

You allow me to share some of Your thoughts!

Pray this Lazaroo with determination:

“They were left to test the Israelites to see whether they would obey the Lord’s commands, which he had given their ancestors through Moses. The Israelites lived among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. They took their daughters in marriage and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.”
(Judges 3:4-6)

I too live among those who follow other gods, Jesus.

But may I – unlike the Israelites – never follow their gods.

Instead, help me lead them to You!

Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast faith:

“To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.”
(Romans 2:7-8)

Persistence is the key, isn’t it, Jesus?

An occasional good or bad deed doesn’t tell the whole story.

What I do or don’t do doesn’t save me.

But my behavior over time reveals

whether or not I’m saved.

Pray this Lazaroo as a passionate plea:

“And the Lord said to Joshua, ‘Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: “When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.”’”
(Joshua 3:7-8)

When You do that for a leader, Jesus

their biggest challenge is to make sure

they’re not exalted in their own eyes.

Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.”
(Acts 2:29-30)

You, Jesus! David’s descendant!

David breathed his last breath on this earth
believing You would come.

Now, in heaven

he is watching in utter joy
as the miracle of You unfolds.

Pray this Lazaroo with wholehearted adoration:

“And so you stayed in Kadesh many days – all the time you spent there. Then we turned back and set out toward the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea, as the Lord had directed me. For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir.”
(Deuteronomy 1:46-2:1)

Wherever You lead, LORD

whenever You say.

I’m sticking with You

no matter how long it takes.

My life-goal is simple:

Stay in lock-step with You.

Pray this Lazaroo in 100% agreement:

“On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, ‘They have no more wine.’”
(John 1:1-3)

This was a not-too-subtle request, wasn’t it, Jesus?

It had been more than 30 years since the angel Gabriel
told Your virgin mother her son

was the Son of God.

She thought it was time somebody else knew it, too.

Pray this Lazaroo with steely determination:

“So Moses collected the redemption money from those who exceeded the number redeemed by the Levites. Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and his sons, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.”
(Numbers 3:49, 51)

Two steps, Jesus. Not just one.

1. Collect the money as You command.
2. Give it to the people You specify.

May I never stop with the first step in obeying You.

Help me take every step of obedience!

…all the way home.
