Pray this Lazaroo with excuseless humility:

“Next to him, Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired another section, from the entrance of Eliashib’s house to the end of it. The repairs next to him were made by the priests from the surrounding region.”
(Nehemiah 3:21-22)

That was so kind of Meremoth, Jesus –

repairing a section of the wall in front of someone else’s house
the priests from the surrounding regions doing the same.

O God!

Please help me set aside self-care
long enough to care for others.

Pray this Lazaroo in trusting submission:

“I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man…”
(1 Timothy 2:12)

It’s doubtful that Paul would follow such a practice today, Jesus.

In that culture, female leadership over men
was a stumbling block to the advancement of Your kingdom.

So he asked women with those gifts and skills

to graciously exercise them with other women.

O God! May I be willing to make any sacrifice

for the sake of Your great Name!

Pray this Lazaroo in heartfelt gratitude:

“Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building. They bribed officials to work against them and frustrate their plans during the entire reign of Cyrus king of Persia and down to the reign of Darius king of Persia.”
(Ezra 4:4-5)

It’s hard to believe there are people like this, Jesus

until one of them comes after me.

What would I do, if I didn’t have You!

You alone are my Protector and Deliverer!

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“…God our Father…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:16)

Oh, Jesus!

The Father of us all sent You to us!

But it gets even better.

You and the Father are One.
Anyone who has seen You has seen the Father!

There is one God.
Only One.

Isaiah said it:

You will be called, “Everlasting Father.”

Through You, God created everything that exists.

In the Person of the Holy Spirit
You live inside me

right now.

My eternal God!

They Is.
He Are.

Pray this Lazaroo with utter abandon:

“He made a bronze altar…He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape…Below the rim, figures of bulls encircled it. The bulls were cast in two rows in one piece with the Sea.”
(2 Chronicles 4:1-3)

These were huge objects for worship, Jesus!

The altar was 30’ wide and long, 15’ high.

The sea (a large, water reservoir)
was 7 ½’ in diameter and 45’ in circumference.

May I never skimp in my worship of You!

You deserve my all!
My very, very best.

Mean it all the way to the marrow of your bones, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:17)

Paul really wanted this, Jesus

and You didn’t give it to him!

Through Paul You gave us much of the New Testament!

Through Him You healed the sick and raised the dead!

But when he passionately desired something outside of Your will

You said no.

Just because he thought it was best didn’t mean it was.

So, please, LORD:

Do the same for me.

Consider carefully, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him. Then he made love to his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah, because there had been misfortune in his family.”
(1 Chronicles 7:22-23)

Ephraim was lost in grief, Jesus.

Even after You gave him a son in place of those who died
he rhymed his name with “misfortune.”

When I’m dealt a huge blow

please help me trust You
and move on!

Pray this Lazaroo in determined passion:

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom…”
(Colossians 1:28)

It’s important to declare Your Name to our family, friends, city, nation and world, Jesus!

But having done so, it’s essential to admonish them
warning of the consequences if they reject You.

It’s vital that we teach them all about You
so they’ll learn to love and obey You as we do.

But the only way they’ll accept what we say

is when we speak with Your holy wisdom!

Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“’You will overthrow every fortified city and every major town. You will cut down every good tree, stop up all the springs, and ruin every good field with stones.’ The next morning, about the time for offering the sacrifice, there it was—water flowing from the direction of Edom! And the land was filled with water.”
(2 Kings 3:19-20)

That didn’t make sense, Jesus!

Water? They hadn’t asked for water!

But water was exactly what they needed.

Like I, so often…

they just didn’t know it.

Tender your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
(Philippians 2:3-4)

Caring about others above myself, Jesus?

That truly does take humility!

I tend to think what I’ve got going on is all-important.

But that’s how they feel about their lives, too.

So doesn’t that cancel both out?

Why should I give them preference?

Only if I truly believe that in doing so

You will bless, heal, guide and protect me!
