Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.”
(Jude 1:19)

That’s everything, isn’t it, Jesus?

To have Your Spirit living in me
because I’ve put my trust in You alone as my Savior.

Those who live by their natural instincts don’t get it.

Their actions make that abundantly clear.

The most loving thing I can do for them

is to introduce them to You
and the indwelling Majesty of Your Holy Spirit!

Never forget it, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…when a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.”
(Ezekiel 3:20)

I can’t just stand by and watch a good person self-destruct, Jesus.

I’ve got to do my best to get in their face, if necessary

and turn them around.

Pray this Lazaroo with sincere humility:

“…Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us.”
(3 John 1:9)

Well, no, Jesus.

There was no way on earth
that Diotrephes would welcome John.

If he did, he’d no longer be first!

By comparison to the famous Apostle John
Diotrephes would appear to be a nobody.

He’d rather miss out on John’s incomparable teaching

than give up his position of self-importance.

May I never miss out on your best

because of my pigheaded desire to be a big shot.

Take warning! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for Daughter Judah. He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The Lord has made Zion forget her appointed festivals and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.”
(Lamentations 2:5-6)

You’re longsuffering, Jesus.

But may I never persist in my sin

because I’m terrified to incur Your wrath!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“…many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver…”
(2 John 1:7)

There are little deceivers…big deceivers…

and then the deceiver, Jesus:

Satan.

He refused to acknowledge Your supremacy.

Once he committed that fundamental sin

it’s was all downhill.

From that point on, he spread his lies to – and through –

as many angels and people as he possibly could.

But one day soon

he – and they – will meet their just end.

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“‘Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if they can save you when you are in trouble! For you, Judah, have as many gods as you have towns. Why do you bring charges against me? You have all rebelled against me,’ declares the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 2:28-29)

We play with our idols until they get us in trouble, Jesus…

then we cry out to You for help

and wonder why You don’t respond to us.

Pray this Lazaroo with God-given perspective:

“They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.”
(1 John 2:19)

This is a huge eye-opener, Jesus!

Sometimes I think people are my close friends.
When they suddenly drop me, I’m devastated.

But now I realize:

If they turn their backs on me and reject me
they never were my friends.

Pray this Lazaroo in stunned recognition:

“‘I will make mere youths their officials; children will rule over them.’ People will oppress each other—man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young will rise up against the old, the nobody against the honored.”
(Isaiah 3:4-5)

If this is how You punish a people’s sinful behavior, Jesus

I would say my city, state, nation –

and this entire world –

are being punished.

LORD, send revival! Fall on this land!

You’ve done it before.

Please, Father:

Do it again!

Pray this Lazaroo in no-excuses assessment:

“…if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless…”
(2 Peter 2:6-7)

That raises an important question, Jesus:

Did You rescue Lot – at least in part –
because he hated the sin of his city?

And if so…

do I hate the depraved conduct of mine?

Pray this Lazaroo with profound gratitude:

“Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.”
(Song of Songs 3:5)

It sounds like Solomon’s wife may have learned the hard way, Jesus:

Don’t force it.

Or even better:

You can’t force it!

True love is a choice.

Which is why I’m thrilled to realize:

You chose to love me!

which is why with all my heart:

I choose to love You!
