Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“…when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves…They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.”
(Romans 2:14-15)

I have the law, Jesus –

along with the prophets, gospels and epistles.

But I don’t want to depend solely on my conscience to apply them.

I’m relying on You, Holy Spirit!

Pray this Lazaroo with unwavering trust:

“…as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap. So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.”
(Joshua 3:13-14)

It’s that first step of obedience, isn’t it, Jesus!

It’s hard – especially when it’s counterintuitive

politically incorrect.

But if by faith I take that step

amazing things will happen!

Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast faith:

“For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, ‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’ Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
(Acts 2:34-36)

You’re the one who ascended into heaven, Jesus!

But only after –

in the greatest display of love
this world has ever known –

You gave Your life for me on the cross.

Pray this Lazaroo with bottomless trust:

“The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. So we went on past our relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir.”
(Deuteronomy 2:7-8)

Thank You, Jesus, for watching over my journey through my own vast wilderness.

And yes…

from time to time

it’s been necessary to move on

past some of my relatives! 😉

Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, ‘Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.’ What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.”
(John 2:9-11)

Your first miracle, Jesus!

With the greatest miracle of all –

the eradication of my sins –

yet to come.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“Over the table of the Presence they are to spread a blue cloth and put on it the plates, dishes and bowls, and the jars for drink offerings; the bread that is continually there is to remain on it. They are to spread a scarlet cloth over them, cover that with the durable leather and put the poles in place.”
(Numbers 4:7-8)

I have to wonder about that scarlet cloth, Jesus.

Did it stand for the blood You would one day shed

to cover my sins?

Pray this Lazaroo in heart pounding love:

“He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us—to show mercy to our ancestors…”
(Luke 1:69-72)

Your salvation is awesome, Jesus!

But how does that show mercy to our ancestors?

It’s for those who are with You in heaven
looking down with great joy
mightily cheering us on!

Pray this Lazaroo with wholehearted adoration:

“As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for them for their sin. Anyone who cannot afford a lamb is to bring two doves or two young pigeons…”
(Leviticus 5:6-7)

I love this about You, Jesus!

Even while punishing our sins
You compassionately remember the poor.

May I always show them
the same, loving respect.

Pray this Lazaroo with pure devotion:

“While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: ‘Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?’”
(Mark 2:15-16)

These Pharisees didn’t get it, did they, Jesus?

They were sinners, too.

Please, please, please:

Never let me become that blind.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“Then the Lord said, ‘Put your hand inside your cloak.’ So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, the skin was leprous—it had become as white as snow. ‘Now put it back into your cloak,’ he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh.”
(Exodus 4:6-7)

This was no parlor trick, Jesus.

This was the real deal –

like everything You do.
