Pray this Lazaroo with no-holds-barred surrender:

“In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy…”
(2 Timothy 2:20-21)

So that’s my reward for cleansing myself, Jesus?

To be made holy?

I’ll take it!

Going to work on cleansing myself right now.

Wow. This is harder than I thought.

Only You!
Only You!
Only You!

Pray this Lazaroo in Bold, Brave, Belief!

“’Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.’ When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work.”
(Nehemiah 4:14-15)

They were outnumbered, Jesus.

Their enemies’ armies were powerful.

But You responded to their total faith in You with deliverance!

Fill me with such faith, Holy Spirit!
I need You!

Pray this Lazaroo in holy fear:

“…the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers…”
(1 Timothy 3:11)

Amen, Jesus.

If there’s one thing that can ruin the harmony in Your Church
it’s a group of women who are malicious talkers.

Of course, there’s a second thing that can ruin the harmony in Your Church:

a group of men who are malicious talkers.

Even one man.
Even one woman.

That’s all it takes to create incalculable harm.

May I never be guilty of this disruptive sin!

Pray this Lazaroo…without excuse:

“We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago…But because our ancestors angered the God of heaven, he gave them into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar the Chaldean, king of Babylon, who destroyed this temple and deported the people to Babylon.”
(Ezra 5:11-12)

They knew, Jesus!

and didn’t try to hide it.

So often, we pretend we’re innocent.

We complain – as though we don’t deserve
the bad things happening to us.

But I know better.

I confess!
Have mercy on me!

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith.”
(2 Thessalonians 3:2)

That seems an obvious statement, Jesus.

Of course wicked and evil people don’t have faith!

Oh, wait a minute…

are You referring to those who only pretend to have faith
but in their hearts are wicked and evil

doing incalculable damage behind my back
while smiling to my face?

Yes, LORD.

Please.
I beg You:

Deliver me from them!

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“Then Solomon said, ‘The Lord has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud’…”
(2 Chronicles 6:1)

I guess that’s something You told Solomon, Jesus

because that statement appears nowhere else in the Bible.

But I’m so thankful to hear it –

through every hard, torturous, dark cloud day I’m called to endure.

You’ve promised never to leave me nor forsake me.

That means so much on my good days
but it means a thousand times more on the bad.

Stand firm! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter had tempted you and that our labors might have been in vain.”
(1 Thessalonians 3:5)

For someone who devotes their life to invest in others, Jesus

that has to be one of the most terrifying fears.

Defeat the tempter!
Send him back in utter failure!

May Your people become everything You’ve created us to be.

Pray this Lazaroo in humble adulation:

“…the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries in the house of God. They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning.”
(1 Chronicles 9:26-27)

May I always guard the place where Your people meet, Jesus!

It may be constructed of wood, brick, canvas, bamboo or stone

but it’s sacred!

Pray this Lazaroo with undiluted sincerity:

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him…”
(Colossians 2:6-7)

How can I send my roots down deep in You, Jesus?

The answer to that question is no big secret, is it?

Time spent with You studying and obeying Your Word.
Time spent with You in prayer.
Time spent with You loving Your people.

Does this describe my daily life?

Then I’m being rooted and built up in You.
