Pray this Lazaroo with bulldog faith:
“…you know that our testimony is true.”
(3 John 1:12)
That was John’s reputation, Jesus.
People knew they could trust him
no matter the circumstances.
As with all reputations
it has to be earned.
With everything in me
I long for that to be my reputation too!
But I know it doesn’t happen because I’ve told the truth most of the time.
I need to be a person who tells the truth all the time
even when it hurts.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:
“Even when I call out or cry for help, he shuts out my prayer. He has barred my way with blocks of stone; he has made my paths crooked. Like a bear lying in wait, like a lion in hiding, he dragged me from the path and mangled me and left me without help.”
(Lamentations 3:8-11)
Something tells me Jeremiah wasn’t wearing one of those, “God is good all the time” shirts, Jesus.
Are You good all the time?
Yes.
But some days it doesn’t feel like it.

Pray this Lazaroo with heartfelt anticipation:
“I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.”
(2 John 1:12)
Partial joy is good, Jesus.
It sure beats total sorrow!
Partial joys are little oases in the desert of life!
Thank You for every one You’ve given me.
But complete joy?
Whew! I was starting to think I’d have to wait till heaven for that one.
But if John can experience complete joy by visiting passionate believers
why can’t I?

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:
“‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation. I thought you would call me “Father” and not turn away from following me. But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me,’ declares the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 3:19-20)
I have no intention of turning away from You, Jesus!
Not ever.
It is my desire to remain faithful to You
every moment
of every hour
of every day
until You call me home to be with You!

Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:
“…his anointing teaches you about all things…”
(1 John 2:27)
Then give me Your anointing, Jesus!
I am so grateful for what You’ve taught me thus far.
I’ve grown.
My understanding has increased from what it was
at the beginning of my walk with You.
Oh, but there’s so much more I don’t grasp!
I’m still but a child, desperately needing to be taught.
As I spend time in prayer and in Your Word, Holy Spirit
enlighten me!

Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:
“Now I will tell you what I am going to do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it will be destroyed; I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled. I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and briers and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds not to rain on it.”
(Isaiah 5:5-6)
I never want to turn You into my enemy, Jesus!
Please keep me close to You.
Please – never let me stray.
I choose to stay in deep, daily, moment-by-moment, 1on1 relationship with You
forever.

Pray this Lazaroo in total dedication:
“With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood!”
(2 Peter 2:14)
What are my eyes full of, Jesus?
If not adultery, what?
Even if it’s a different sin, the result is the same.
I’ll never stop sinning.
Only when my eyes are full of love for You and Your Word
pleasing You and serving Your people
will I be able to stop my sinning
and start laying up significant heavenly treasure.

Pray this Lazaroo with sacrificial love:
“The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city. They beat me, they bruised me; they took away my cloak, those watchmen of the walls! Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you—if you find my beloved, what will you tell him? Tell him I am faint with love.”
(Song of Songs 5:7-8)
Would I do that for You, Jesus –
endure beating, bruising, abuse because of my love for You?
I’d better!
because that’s what You did because of Your love for me.
