Pray this Lazaroo with pure devotion:

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
(2 Timothy 2:22)

How do I overcome all the temptations Satan strews along my path, Jesus?

By single-mindedly focusing on all the opportunities You provide
to become everything You’ve created me to be

while making sure I surround myself
with like-minded men and women
who call on You out of a pure heart.

Pray this Lazaroo in growing wisdom:

“…the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me. Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, ‘The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!’”
(Nehemiah 4:18-21)

Nehemiah knew what to let go of, Jesus

and what to keep close.

The trumpeter was key!

With so much at stake

No way was Nehemiah going to send him
to somebody else!

Pray this Lazaroo in utter dependence on God:

“A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.”
(1 Timothy 3:12)

No small task, Jesus.

There’s a lot of temptation out there.
Satan sees to it.

For a man to be faithful to his wife
requires him to lean on You every day.

Some kids are easy keepers.

But others?
Not so much.

Oh, how a dad needs You
to help him navigate the challenges of parenthood

every single day.

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“‘Take these articles and go and deposit them in the temple in Jerusalem. And rebuild the house of God on its site.’ So this Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of the house of God in Jerusalem. From that day to the present it has been under construction but is not yet finished.”
(Ezra 5:15-16)

How many of the assignments You’ve given me

remain unfinished, Jesus?

That’s unacceptable.

In Your strength, favor and blessing –

before You call me Home –

it is my desire to complete every one!

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“…pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you…”
(2 Thessalonians 3:2-3)

I need some of that strength, Jesus.

Right now.

Did I say, “some” of that strength?

Make that “a lot” of Your strength!

There are times when Satan’s attacks are relentless

day after day after day.

Without You, I’d never make it.

With You – in Your Strength –

I know I will!

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“Since the day I brought my people out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built so that my Name might be there, nor have I chosen anyone to be ruler over my people Israel. But now I have chosen Jerusalem for my Name to be there, and I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.”
(2 Chronicles 6:5-6)

Saul wasn’t Your choice, Jesus.

He was the king the people wanted.

Thank You for wanting –

and choosing me!

Pray this Lazaroo in loving gratitude:

“But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you.”
(1 Thessalonians 3:6)

These kinds of relationships are rare, Jesus.

If I have anything like this, help me cherish it
and never take it for granted.

If I don’t have anything like it

please bring this blessing into my life!

Pray this Lazaroo in Godly humility:

“…some of the priests took care of mixing the spices. A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with the responsibility for baking the offering bread. Some of the Kohathites, their fellow Levites, were in charge of preparing for every Sabbath the bread set out on the table.”
(1 Chronicles 9:30-32)

Are these tasks too mundane for a priest, Jesus?

Not at all!

No matter how small

whatever I do for You is holy and significant.

Pray this Lazaroo with a full heart:

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
(Colossians 2:6-7)

What a great state to be in, Jesus –

“overflowing with thankfulness!”

When I think of all You’ve done for me –

starting with the love You showed
when You paid for my sins on the cross –

I have every reason to let my thanks overflow!
