Pray this Lazaroo in sold-out surrender:

“None who go to her…attain the paths of life.”
(Proverbs 2:19)

Terrifying words, Jesus.

At first glance, they leave no hope.

It sounds as though anyone who has ever committed adultery

is condemned to hell
no matter what.

But that’s not what You’re saying.

The word, “go” is present tense.

If a person stops sinning

that makes it past tense.

If they quit for You, turning to You with all their heart, they have Your promise:

They will live.

Pray this Lazaroo with lavish love:

“For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful…high priest…”
(Hebrews 2:17)

You get it, Jesus.

Better than that:
You get me.

You know why I struggle, stumble, fall.

You didn’t –

but only because You were also God!

I’m not.
So from time to time I blow it.

If You were distant, aloof

that would be a problem.

But You came

and walked in my shoes.

Pray this Lazaroo in joyous adoration:

“…make straight your way before me.”
(Psalms 5:8)

A straight path sure beats crooked, Jesus!

It allows me to see farther
which allows me to plan more wisely.

If there are rocks or holes in the road
it’s much easier to miss them.

Fewer sharp turns
means I can go faster.

But the best thing about a straight path

is that I’m far less likely to get lost along the way.

O God!

Make straight Your way before me!
