He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.”

King Nebuchadnezzar got a bit full of himself, didn’t he, Jesus?

He thought he had made himself great.

He hadn’t.

Not ourselves, Jesus.

Not our accomplishments.
Not our good deeds.
Not our churches.
Not our wisdom.
Not religion.

You, Jesus.

You.

It is Your Name I proclaim!

Why?

Because Salvation is found in no one else!

There’s no other name under heaven given to mankind
by which we must be saved.

You’re Wonderful Counselor

Mighty God
Everlasting Father
Prince of Peace.

Of the greatness of Your government and peace there will be no end.

Some people are just like that, Jesus.

They’re doers, workers, achievers –

but not merely for a season.

They keep going and going and going

doing even more.

While I focus on what they’ve accomplished

they’ve moved on to the next thing

and the next and the next.

They know their work is never done until You say so.

But they don’t resent it!

Because they know they’re laying up

untold heavenly treasure.
