Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“Say to Aaron and his sons:…‘The sin offering is to be slaughtered before the Lord in the place the burnt offering is slaughtered; it is most holy. The priest who offers it shall eat it; it is to be eaten in the sanctuary area, in the courtyard of the tent of meeting.”
(Leviticus 6:25-26)

You told them what to do

where to do it

and how to do it, Jesus.

Do that for me!

Well…actually, You’ve already done that in Your Word.

Maybe I should obey those
before begging for more direction.

Sell out totally to God as you pray ths Lazaroo:

“…to others show mercy, mixed with fear…”
(Jude 1:23)

At first, this sounds counterintuitive, Jesus.

Shouldn’t showing mercy be one of the happiest, safest actions on the planet?

Well…I might think so.

But actually, when I show mercy to someone who’s doing wrong
I’m in contact with a deadly, highly-contagious spiritual disease

especially if the recipient of my mercy
points out that my mercy means

they just got away with it!

Supernatural wisdom.

I desperately need Your supernatural wisdom.

Pray this Lazaroo in chastened humility:

“Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become ‘fools’ so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: ‘He catches the wise in their craftiness’ ; and again, ‘The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.’”
(1 Corinthians 3:18-20)

So let me get this straight, Jesus:

If I brag that I’m “so wise…”

I might actually be a –

Got it.

Pray this Lazaroo in full awareness:

“…what I have forgiven…I have forgiven in the sight of Christ…”
(2 Corinthians 2:10)

Everything I do is done in Your sight, Jesus

…but it’s good for me to remember that.

When I’m making a major claim like Paul was

it’s not a bad idea for me to remind others of it. 😉

It’s hard enough to say I’ve forgiven someone.

But to actually, thoroughly, permanently forgive them?

That’s a pretty big deal.

Knowing You’re watching

helps me do it.

Pray this Lazaroo with excitement:

“We have found the one Moses wrote about…”
(John 1:45)

What a thrill that had to be, Jesus!

They’d been waiting 1,400 years for You to appear!

How many generations of Godly Jews had come and gone without getting so much as a glimpse of You?

Phillip, Andrew and Peter were going through this day –

like any other day –

when suddenly, it happened!

there You were!

Miracles of miracles…

I’ve found You, too!

Well, actually –

You’ve revealed Yourself to me.

Pray this Lazaroo in openhearted allegiance:

“I ask…”
(2 John 1:5)

Those are two loaded words, Jesus!

I ask and ask and ask.
I ask a lot!

But the question is:

Do I ask for the right things?

Actually, yes. I think I do.
Usually.

But are there times when – without knowing it –

I ask You to do things that are not best for me?

I’m sure there are.

When I do, please:

Gently tell me, “No.”

Because with all my heart

I trust You.

Pray this Lazaroo in shocked realization:

“These people are grumblers…”
(Jude 1:15)

I’ve done some grumbling in my day, Jesus.

I’m not proud of it.

I don’t think I’m a grumbler – a person who grumbles all the time.

But if I’m doing it at all
I’m risking becoming one.

If I look hard enough
I can always find fault with something.

The biggest issue with the sin of grumbling, though

is that I’m not grumbling about people, things or circumstances.

I’m actually grumbling against You.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“…have you not…become judges with evil thoughts?”
(James 2:4)

I was about to say, “Not me, Jesus!”

But denial does me no good.
Actually, it does me a lot of harm.

So let me ask the One who knows me better than I know myself:

Am I judging unfairly?

If so, what could I be thinking?

Don’t I hate it
when others who have no idea what I’m going through
judge me?

How dare I do that to them!
