I’ve had moments like that too, Jesus!

When You’ve done something for me that never could have happened

had You not answered my fervent prayers.

Of course, when I testify about Your provision to others

not all of them are convinced.
In their minds, some attempt to explain it away.

But I know.

And You know.

And that’s all that matters.

Answered prayer is a beautiful thing, Jesus!

It rewards my hope in You.
It draws the two of us together.
It further builds my faith
It gives me cause to praise You to others.

It brings me back to You
with gratitude, love, thanksgiving, worship

and more requests!

May I never overlook or ignore any prayer You’ve answered!

Show me, Holy Spirit!

So I will be prompted and re-prompted
to hold high Your Mighty Name!

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“My prayer rose to you…”

That’s what I always hope will happen when I pray, Jesus

that my praises, requests, thanksgiving
rise to You.

Of course, that’s the flowery way of putting it –

as if my location on earth is down
and Your location is up.

But what I really mean is

when I pray
I hope You listen.

Actually, it’s stronger than that.

When I pray
I have to know beyond all doubt
that You’re listening.

If only that would happen every time I pray, Jesus!

I know You did it for this man.
I know You have the power to do it today.
I know You love me enough to do it for me…

if that’s what’s best.

That’s why it doesn’t happen every time I pray, isn’t it?

Because in my lack of wisdom and knowledge
I seldom ask for what’s best.
